Brand new 2020 4x4, hear a whine when I accelerate, more frequently from cold than when already running.

I've already contacted the dealer for an appointment on Tuesdays, in the mean time ive checked power steering and transmission fluid.

    Any one have anything similar?

Mine does it also like a wine, high-pitch howl. It does go away it's at a lower speed when accelerating. 2020 off road.

Whats strange is the whine lasts maybe 2-3 seconds and then goes away. But is fairly predictable. I thought maybe i was nuts until my wife was driving and heard it happen from outside the truck.

Well maybe I'm under 1k in millage. And I haven't noticed anything constant. The sound is sort of high pitched but comes and goes quickly, and I've only notice it when I first accelerate hard to make speed, then not again until my next trip.

But perhaps it will evolve into that issue?

so I'm at the dealership. Before they look at it he tells me its normal on all new tacomas. Blames it on the sound from the injectors.

Tell him its under the vehicle not from the engine bay, and that I had a 2019 I traded in that didn't have the problem. He then states he meant on all new 2020 tacomas.

What speed range does it occur at? If 48 to 60-ish, then it's the rear diff.

I'm betting on rear diff too. I'll have to record it and bring it in again. But as my luck goes it wasn't doing it this morning so I look like a crazy person.

I'll just deal with the faint sound, rather than have the dealer tear it all to hell trying to fix it. It's not the quietest road vehicle, so the other road noises often cover it up.

I suggest trying to diagnose this yourself . As sad as it is knowing you paid a lot of money for the truck , the dealership will simply say its normal and send you on your way .
Seen it a thousand times at Tacoma World.
Your service ticket is going to look similar to this

I totally get it but if it’s 3rd member is not that hard to replace not necessary to have tear up the truck
