Dealerships stock is crazy low right now with most only having 3 or so Tacoma’s on the lot. Dealer today said he could order whatever I wanted, still make a deal, and 1.9% financing. I am thinking Limited but not sure how much they will negotiate off. He said they have room on the TRD. Also does anyone know if when ordering from the factory can I get TRD wheels on the Limited?

How long did they say it would take for the special order?

You can ask to trade tires and wheels, however I did so for both my Tacoma and a 4Runner, and my dealer just wanted to sell me additional wheels and tires.

30-90 days. They said that the plant is filling orders now for sold vehicles mostly. But dealerships should be getting more inventory over the next few months. My big thing is I want a sunroof and 4wd in TRD. He said they rarely get inventory with that trim level. But then see a Limited is actually less with all the stuff but minus rear locking diff. Just don’t want 18” wheels.

Everything is short and in demand, if you see it you better buy it or wait a while before you find another one.

The Prop MSRP is $5,000 more and no negotiation. They will negotiate on others.

Unless you want all the checkboxes checked, skip the Pro and get the Off Road

Sales price $35,418 minus whatever incentive there is upon arrival, I don't know what the total will be with saxes and fees. Don't finance until shortly before arrival. I didn't negotiate considering I was having it ordered to my liking and there isn't any anywhere. There is a local dealership selling a 2017 TRD Sport with 35k miles on it for more... Supply and demand.

There are no special orders. What the dealers do is swap allocations. The trucks that are scheduled to be made are the ones that will be made. That's the Toyota system.

They aren't getting a chance to hit the lots atm so it feels like a special order. Let us feel special lol

If they are able to sell every truck they get, why would they negotiate on price?

Supply of EVERYTHING is low right now due to the shortage of ECU chips. I just read that Ford has even shut down a few of their lines because of it.

I went to the dealer with my specific requirements, after "building" the truck on the Toyota website. It was a given that the price would be MSRP. No point in even negotiating. As it turned out, I got two breaks -- the $1,000 Toyota national rebate, and the fact that the factory added LED headlights, for which I wasn't charged since I hadn't specified them.

Yeah, build to orders go against everything dealers stand for in selling what's on the lot now. I one time did a build to order and fortunately had the manufacture's preferred pricing through work.

Best you can get is ask for what dealer options are available. Toyota will only supply trucks with the trim packages available....at least how it was explained to me when i ordered my truck. Took about 10 weeks to get my sr5.

Crossing my fingers I get that treatment. You lock in a sale price when you put a deposit in for the order. So this makes sense. I don't think my TRD Sport has the led factory option tho
