I sold mine on CL to a guy buying it for his son. Asked me if I’d install it for him because he wasn’t “mechanical”. After about 10 minutes ensuring it was perfectly centered and the tabs for the hold downs were in the right spots and tightened, I said okay your all good. He couldn’t believe it was that easy.

I would recommend the Lomax aluminum hard tri fold tonneau. There is a vendor in the Tonneau section of the form that can get you a killer deal on it, and its about 30 lbs, and can be completely removed in about 30 seconds without any tools if you need full access to the bed.

I can second this. In the winter I run my cover for extra weight. I have to remove it entirely any time I want to drive anywhere with my bikes. It takes 5 minutes and that's mostly me getting it into my garage for storage and fiddling with the tools.

Keep an eye out of Facebook Market place. Should be able to pick up a decked system for less than $1,000. I got mine for $550 and it was practically brand new.

This is hands down one of the best additions for a Tacoma. It keeps everything in the bed from sliding around.

I was trying to stay away from tonneau covers - bad experience with a soft cover - not to mention the cost of a good hard cover. After much research and everyone's input I'm now looking for a hard cover.

Why is there a shortage of tonneau covers? Seems like every one I look at is out of stock.

As someone who has the decked system installed, it's pretty...meh. You're not missing anything. Overpriced, and doesn't give you nearly as much storage space as they make you think. If you can pick one up for a decent price used it might be worth it. It is waterproof which is nice, but the drawers are pretty narrow and you basically lose all the storage space past the wheel well. I went with it because I have a bed rack that wouldn't allow me to install a tonneau under it. I think if I had planned this out better, I would have gone that route and shopped for a bedrack that can fit a hard cover under it. Just my 2 cents.
