Oh man, I hate that! There’s a stoplight on my way to work that must just be on timer like that, because it will not change in a timely manner. And when it does, it only stays green for about 15 seconds in my direction and I’m like 20 cars back. :annoyed:

When I pull underneath a overpass and the lady with road rage in her sedan thinks a good idea to get in front of me. Like bro I'm flexing for a reason.

I am always wondering if the Prius drivers are just shitty drivers, or is there something specifially about the way that car is made/designed that makes them drive like an asshole

I feel like it’s a matter of intention- is the person oblivious and just a bad driver, like little old lady/student driver (there’s lots in between)?

I’ve been behind people who sat at green lights when I gave them a friendly “look up from your phone dickhead) honk and they’ve just sat there to be a dick, which then has me wanting to get out of the vehicle- or being stuck in bad traffic and some asshole pulls some malicious shit like passing everyone on the shoulder or cutting over very last minute.

Now that I’m older I can forgive most of the randomly stupid, considering I still do that on occasion, no one’s perfect right?

The question I ask now is what king of person is this? Are they innocent enough and just having a oh shit moment or are they a selfish prick who thinks they can do selfish shit and not get a negative response

I had one of "those" people yesterday -
    - BMW SUV stops completely at a 4 way intersection where she had the right-of-way and arterial. No other vehicles proceeding towards her nor cross traffic.
    - SUV in front of me came to complete stop and did nothing.
    - I came to complete stop but could see around them both.
    - Short BEEP! with Hella loud horns
    - SUV in front of me, raises their hands in a gesture that looked like "What?"
    - BMW SUV starts moving to the next block at maybe 15 mph to the next stop sign.
    - BMW SUV then proceeds to left turn lane, stops, no signals, no cross traffic, no opposite traffic, no cause to stop.
    - Long BEEP! and HIDs up in her mirrors, because I WAS turning left.
    - BMW SUV wakes up from whatever the "F" was causing her to sherk her primary objective while driving, paying attention, and move out of the left turn lane and clog other lanes with their cluelessness.

Mostly as long as they proceed or move out of the way. If they come back to my car or start lipping off, its on.

    Mostly this...

I was flipping out on a lady doing the same shit down by Gasworks today, so I still lose my shit on the painfully stupid, but I try not to get to pissed at stupid people because I just don’t know, they may be old or whatever, someone’s gramma, dunno.

I’m more speaking to this- a time I was turning right onto Avondale and the guy in front of me is sitting at a green turn arrow, so I give him a short tap on the horn.

He looks at me in the rear view and doesn’t move, so now I’m losing my shit.

I proceed to try to go around him on the left and then he jams on it. My girlfriend is flipping out in the passenger seat so I mellow out, but then we’re both going to take a left onto Bear Creek so I open my door to get out but my girlfriend is clawing my arm and I don’t get out fully but I’m standing on my slider screaming at this guy that he should understand that he is basically a piece of shit and 100% in the wrong and should essentially go gargle with bleach, while he sits nervously in the driver seat eying me in his side mirror waiting for the light to change.

That was like 8 years ago and now in my 40’s and a business owner there are risks that don’t warrant the short reward.

There are so many of those instances, the malicious, rude, contentious behaviors that generally make everyone on edge and escalate aggressive driving.

    Fuck those shmucks

I had an encounter with a Prius a few years ago; Woman driving it was upset that I wanted to get in front of her because she was driving so slow, and two lanes were about to become one, so I passed her and she tried her best to keep this from happening...

Luckily, a Prius is one of the few vehicles that a 4-banger/slushbox Tacoma can out-accelerate! It wasn't anything against her as a person; She was just driving slow and I didn't want to get stuck behind her!

This happened in February or March of this year; I was rushing to get a DoorDash order at a restaurant in Doylestown Borough; I will admit that I was tailgating (after reviewing the dashcam footage later that night), but at the time I was on autopilot and doing it without realizing it rather than trying to intimidate the driver into going faster or pulling over to let me by. It was a guy (whose face I did not see) driving a white Ford F150 that had to be at least 20 years old); It was a base model 2WD regular cab long bed F150, and clearly a work truck because it had ladder racks...

I was utterly startled when the guy just jammed on his brakes in the middle of Main Street and sat there; This was a part of Main Street where there was a produce place on my left and a Volvo dealership on my right. I may have beeped because he didn't have a signal on, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt until I assumed he was a lost out-of-towner who didn't know where we was supposed to turn. Based on his position, I assumed he wanted to turn into the Volvo dealer; I checked to make sure that the opposing lane was clear and attempted to drive around him (I literally do this all the time with mail trucks, garbage trucks, FedEx and UPS trucks, and occasional vehicle with its hazards on. At this point, the dude in the F150 aggressively blocks me from driving around him and floors it; Okay, whatever...

I may have beeped again, but I never otherwise engaged with him; The CVS was just up the hill on the left, and he turns on his left signal, indicating that he's going to CVS, but he doesn't turn. At this point, he may have flipped me off, and then starts angrily motioning for me to follow him into the CVS parking lot. I wasn't having any of it, and I just drove around him on the right, at which point he attempted block me from going around him and then gave a long blast on the horn as I drove off...

And this happened well into the COVID pandemic but before my mechanic moved to his new location; At the time, Pete was still in the smaller shop on Mechanicsville Road (Ironic, isn't it?).

I believe I was going to Pete's for either a simple oil change or possibly to get the trailer hitch installed (In which case it would have been October 2020); Just after the intersection of 202 and 313, 202 goes from two lanes to just one lane. I was in the right lane, and there was this guy in a Sivlerado on my left. For whatever reason, he did not want me in front of him, but he got caught behind a line of cars waiting to make a left turn and I continued on; I'd all but forgotten about this non-incident until I looked in my rearview mirror and saw the Silverado roaring up behind me. I made the sharp left turn onto Mechanicsville Road, and the guy in the Silverado laid on his horn as he drove past; Okay, whatever...

I briefly considered buying a used 3rd Gen Prius with higher miles as a DoorDash/Uber car, and I test drove a 2010 model with almost 170K miles; I was pleasantly surprised by how much power the car had, and I was driving it no differently than I drove my Tacoma, so I'd say it's the driver...

So when there's a multi-lane intersection with the a dedicated left turn lane, a center straight lane and a right lane for straight or right. If I'm going straight and am the first vehicle, I always use center lane to free up right lane for those wanting to turn right...common sense/courtesy right?

When I want to make a right, I always seem to be behind the only car at the intersection who's in the right lane going straight with the center lane wide open and having to wait the entire light cycle.

This happened while I was delivering a DoorDash order yesterday at like 5pm; There is a one-lane covered bridge in New Britain Township, and when I got to this bridge there was a long line of cars with a Ford F150 at the front of the line just sitting at a stop sign. It was pouring rain and there were floods everywhere, so I was thinking that maybe the bridge was washed out. I sat there for a bit, beeped my horn in frustration, and then other people started making U-turns and turning around, so I got out of the truck to take a look. More people started beeping, and I walked up to the F150 at the stop sign; The woman in the F150 had no idea what was going on, but from the stop sign I could see a late model gray Ram 1500 pickup that had come from our side of the bridge, stopped and at an odd angle. Blocking the path of the Ram was an older model (2003-2005ish) beige Honda Pilot that had come from the opposite side of the bridge and was positioned directly in the middle of the road so nobody who wasn't on a motorcycle or scooter could get through. From where I was standing, it appeared that the Ram and the Pilot had been in an extremely minor head-on collision, or perhaps that the driver of the Ram had a medical emergency of some sort and the driver of the Pilot had positioned their vehicle to keep the truck from rolling into the river or oncoming traffic.

At this point, several minutes had gone by, so I walked up to the vehicles to see what the hell was going on; Nobody else had gone over to investigate at this point, which surprised me; Some people had gotten impatient and turned around, and those that hadn't were beeping their horns every so often...

I walked up to the Ram, and the woman driving it told me that the woman in the beige Pilot thought she had the right of way and was refusing to move unless she (the owner of the Ram) backed up and let her go first. The bridge was not big enough for two Mini Coopers, let alone a full-size pickup truck and a midsize SUV, so one would have to back up for the other to get by. The woman in the Ram did not feel comfortable backing up in the bridge; I talked to the woman in the Pilot, who was easily in her sixties, and her side was that the woman in the Ram had basically jumped the cue and gone when the woman in the Pilot had the right of way. The woman in the Ram made it all the way to the end of the bridge when the woman in the Pilot split lanes and positioned her SUV to keep the Ram from passing. My response to this was something along the lines of "Are you two fucking serious?!?!"

The woman in the Pilot absolutely refused to move; When I told both women that I had a DoorDash order to deliver, the bitch in the Pilot said she didn't care, and the one in the Ram apologized and stated that she'd called the police (The woman in the Ram was by far the friendlier and more reasonable on). I threw up my hands in frustration and walked back to my truck, telling the other people who were waiting that it was road rage over who had the right of way. People were understandably pissed, and the woman in the F150 at the front of the line was about to call the police herself. I got back in my truck and called the customer this Mexican food was going to; I explained the situation, which he found rather amusing, and asked him if he knew where the Pine Run Bridge was. He said he did (he was like half a mile away), and I asked him if he knew another way; He said I'd have to turn around and go the other way...

    :annoyed:

It was about this time that I saw red and blue lights approaching quickly on the other side of the bridge; This particular incident is second only to the time back in October 2015 when I got hit by a drunk driver that I've never been happier to see a cop!

I told the customer that the police had just arrived and I was gonna try and get through; The cop got out of his SUV (I think was Central Bucks Regional, but I'm not sure) and started talking to both women. I drove around the line of cars (everyone in line knew I was delivering DoorDash so this was met with no protest) and watched as the cop got the woman in the Pilot to move almost immediately. At this point I drove onto the bridge, got out of the truck and said "Excuse me officer, I'm delivering DoorDash and I'm late." The cop told me to wait a minute, said something to the woman in the Ram, and the woman in the Ram was allowed to continue on her way. I followed behind the Ram and shouted "Thank you, officer!" out the window, to which he responded "Not a problem..."

The woman in the Pilot who'd caused the whole thing did not immediately leave, and I don't know if she got a ticket, but I'm guessing that at bare minimum the cop gave her a stern lecture!

Seriously though, the only other time I was that happy to see a cop was back in October 2015 when a drunk old man ran a stop sign in his Mercedes and did $2,200 in damage to my Tacoma, then tried to accuse me of running a stop sign! I was likely minutes away from knocking his teeth out (unless he had dentures :D) when a cop arrived!
