I installed my prinsu toprack on my snugtop rebel with the yakima tracks on it new from the factory. When I tighten down the rack to the shell it lifts up the tracks a bit on all four attachment points. Anyone have this issue? User error?

Did you ever get a good solution to this?

I just installed my Prinsu Top Rack on my ARE CX REVO w/ Rhino Rack tracks & noticed an issue this morning. It seems as if the rack brackets are causing the tracks to pull up from the shell (pictured below). I did some digging & some people used the below Sherpa or Smittybilt brackets, but it seems their issues wasn't the track pulling up but moreso that the bracket had a gap from the tracks to rack. Any ideas or tips on which route I should go before I spend more $$$ on brackets I don't need?

I tried to loosen all of the bolts/nuts from the bracket to rack & bracket to track then tighten the track bracket first but it had no luck, I even tried to add spacer washers to the track bracket portion as well. It also seems that the bolt may be too long since it's leaving marks on the tracks.

I am also pretty sure my rack style would be considered the flat style and not the contoured?FIBq9cYzSJFyFktuSZamCL1R9Qs_a0ESeHnBXOSa_f636ab9aa7550763bc5d31c39a080f71a876778f.jpg

Since they follow the lines of the shell, the tracks are arched from front to back. You are attaching a rack which is straight to a base which is arched. Naturally the ends of the track are going to pull up. This is a severe problem for racks with 6 attachment points (Prinsu toprac for the long bed), but it's also a problem for racks with 4 attachment points. That's because of the angle of the tracks, at the ends, relative to the rack. The answer is the liberal use of spacers (fender washers) to bring everything into alignment. (Spacers may require longer bolts.)

A suggestion: I'd have put the spacers on the top portion of the mount, in-between the crossbar and the mount, so it is less noticeable. Use black stainless washers too.

OK, but that would require twice as many bolts and washers. (The supplied 1/4" carriage bolts would not be long enough.) It would also be harder to do, installation-wise.

Martin Off-road brackets are adjustable like that as well. They float in the bracket until you tighten them down. Allows for variations topper to topper as well since layered fiberglass is not going to be exact unit to unit for the toppers.

Washers weren't enough for mine and look like shit (IMO). Ordered the Sherpa adjustable feet today. Pinsu's website should just link to Sherpa's for mounts if they can't engineer a useful mount themselves.
