You need to move speeds in TC lock 1-4 tables up. This will shut down SLU solenoid(torque coverter clutch), but there is a toll. If you drive below speeds that you selected to shutdown SLU, watch out for TC temp. Street driving with lots of stop&go traffic, heavy single lane traffic, hills, etc.

    - Timing is advanced slightly compared to Kruiser 3.0, AFR remains the same.
    - It runs based on stock CL/OL logic with improved shift points comparable to the ones in 4.0 and Moose's Daily.
    - Tip in is more mild than Kruiser but not as low as MnW or OV Tune (Version 2.0 is a tad more aggressive but that's not the free tune).
    - Torque maps have been adjusted to allow for low end pull and gear holding on the interstate.
    - Idle RPMs are lower than stock, much lower, to provide a smoother launch and better city MPG.
    - The tune is very MPG oriented with most users reporting flat highway numbers in the lower 20s with city driving averaging around 17-18.

As stated before, this is just V1.8 which is mild compared to 2.0. V2.0 has improved in all MPG aspects 12% and brought the low end acceleration to something more aligned with my wife's Acura RDX A-Spec in sport+ mode. Overall they are both very manageable tunes that won't send you into the car in front. Small pedal movements produce large results. ECT in 2.0 is officially measured in smiles per gallon.

If anyone wants to give 2.0 a shot after feeling out 1.8 then message me. I'll adjust anything specific to your truck and send it over.

Never had issues with idle RPMs. Is there a scientific justification?
As far as holding gears on interstate. Is your tune downshifting on demand without denting the firewall? Like going up a BF hill at 70 mph?
The samples I tried are holding 5th too long and require an intervention.
    Thanks.

flashed 1.8 tonight. So far so good in the city. Hope to get some Mountain time soon on it.

It helps with sitting in traffic and city mpgs but also lightens the sensitivity of acceleration from a stop. The problem with holding a gear on the interstate needs light throttle, but with a less aggressive tip in shifting will occur more. Double edged sword.

It will downshift when appropriate and I haven't had any issues with it not going down when it should. Switching from 5 to 6 after a hill or on a hill will depend on the truck weight and the grade its still on. Some steep sections level out slightly, but still require 5th to keep the speed. Once the truck is able to bounce back to 6th it will typically do so fairly quickly.

What tire size are you running?

Also, 2.0 has a more aggressive low end and holds slightly better in the hills and mountains.

I've had testers in the rockies, flat midwest, hills of OH and PA, through West Virginia, plus personally driven the 1.9 and 2.0 version to Arizona and back over the last two weeks.

Shift points and throttle are based on Kruiser with changes made to improve low speed sensitivity. If you've run Kruiser 3.0 or 4.0, it should feel slightly less touchy and hold just the same if not extremely close to it.

I have the whole excel sheet somewhere. Rpm difference (4.88 vs 5.29) on the highway isn’t that big ~200rpm.

With more and more 285/75/17 (34’s), 35x10.5, 35x11.5 options available there’s no reason to go with 33’s.

At 80mph with 4.88’s and true 32’s (255/75/17) I sit almost at exactly 2400 RPMs at 80 mph, just fyi

@shotgunbilly420 is running V2.0 in Washington for me. So far results are extremely impressive for a terrain with more hills and mountains than my own.

Thanks for the update. V2.0 is the best of both worlds. Insane power but the fuel economy is still there.

Let me know when your miles to empty peaks into the 400s haha

After you consider times you warm up engine and really all idle times burns fuel in reality I get 350 to 365 a tank

Yea lowering the idle slightly across the maps won’t net the mpg but it helps with acceleration sensitivity. That’s where most the city mileage numbers get the boost

this pretty much echoes my review of the “soon” to be released KD tune.

My mpg has taken a slight hit (0.5) but I also find myself driving faster than before. My truck isn’t struggling to maintain 70+mph now...smooth sailing at 75mph on the highway. It even goes into 6th sometimes...AND stays there!

Hardly ever dips down into 4th anymore going up slight inclines like 2.0 would do. It will down shift when needed though, but you aren’t putting your foot through the firewall to get it to kick down, like on some other tunes out there.

Passing power at highway speed is insane, holy shit...doing 90+ before you know it.

No more of the 3500rpm surge of power. Smooth from idle to rev limit. Throttle sensitivity is about the best I’ve found yet. Seem to be an inbetween of 1.05 base and 1.05 performance...2.0 was dulled down a lot from 1.05, I was never a fan. Even the “thx” was crap.

my truck has never ran better, honestly.

    New thread created
New KDMAX Performance tune by @PapaRee and @TWtaco | Tacoma World

    ---- The KDMax Performance Tune-----

Testing is finally done. We made it up to Version 4.0

The Kruiser 4.0 is a great tune, but we always want more!
So, we have been working on making it better. We have also been asked by a
well known suspension manufacturer to make a tune for their newly built, heavy Tacoma truck.
We have been adjusting, testing, monitoring and logging, then repeating till everyone was satisfied.
We have been working on the fuel/air delivery, shifting, throttle, torque maps and overall performance.
This new tune is definitely an improvement. The shifting is smooth, the throttle is less "jerky",
especially from a stop and at low speeds. The power and torque is there at low and high speeds.
Because the Kruiser tune was already very strong, it is hard to get more power. But we feel like we sqeezed out a little bit more.
The gas mileage on our trucks has NOT worsened. With all the testing, running it hard, our mileage is not a good gauge.
But we can tell when we drive "normal", the mileage is still good.
-The KDMax tune will be available by PM only (or tuned in person)
-The KDMax tune will only be sent out as a LOCKED file.

Any tire, gear, AGM settings will be done by @PapaRee or @TWTaco
    K&D=Kreg and Dave
    @PapaRee and @TWTaco
Contact @PapaRee or @TWTaco by PM to give us your truck specs.
Please give us time to add the settings.

    Pricing
    ------------------------------------------
I am making tunepacks with 4 files--

    2. Regular with Regular tip in
    3. Premium with light tip in
    4. Regular with light tip in.
*You will get a 4 file TunePack*
-For people who already bought the Kruiser, the KDMAX is going to be $50 US (4 tune files)
-For people who have not bought the Kruiser, the KDMax will be $100 US (4 tune files)
-For people who want us to tune their truck- $300 US

These Tuners will be selling the KDMax Performance tune or the Kruiser tune:

    ALL FILES WILL BE LOCKED.
If you do not like this, do not buy it.
As with all the tunes from us, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
If you are NOT wanting a Performance tune---This tune is NOT for you!!
Please give it some miles before reporting anything.
If you have any "weird" shifting or bad MPG, RESET LV and AT then re-flash.
We will work hard to accommodate all requests.

*Dyno tests are going to be done soon with gearlock to get low end torque numbers and to see if we squeezed out anymore power.
