DC speaker box done - amp deck next

I live in Orange County and he is in Los Angeles so I just took a drive down and picked it up. He's really knowledgeable and experienced with Tacomas. Tried to bring him to the forums to help his business.

Anyways, the boxes he makes are really nice. He told me he makes them for both compartments. Fiberglass cast with wood and metal in between. He compensates for the hooks so you don't have to remove the child hooks or anything. Just trim the plastic compartment a little so it fits. No cutting of any metal. Sounds pretty good, I think I need to buy a better sub because I bought a cheap one. Cheap man pays twice right?

 

I was saying the OPs box was impressive. And since I just bought mine I was excited to see someone else with one

Keep in mind, the sub box you quoted is for 2015 and older. It wont fit in the 2016+ models.

What path did you route the wiring? I also have an amp and line output converter behind the rear passenger seat on the driver side. U have a bundle of wires stocking out because theres not enough room behind any of the panels to store the excess wiring

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I've been busy with other truck projects and keeping up on maintenance on my other cars. Here's an old but updated picture that happened maybe a month or so after the sub box install. Replaced all my door speakers and don't remember if the head unit was replaced when the sub went in or after. To answer your question, I ran the speaker outputs from the deck to the rear amps through the center console under the carpet. The power and amp turn-on wires are on the drivers side door sills and the speaker wires from the amp to the doors are on same route as the outputs wires then out the each door.
