I'm heading down from the chilly lake this weekend. I'd like to do an oil change but I will not be anywhere where I can wrench...

I am still bringing the goodies, tools and supplies, just in case... But odds are not good.

Can someone recommend a decent shop in the neighborhood?

    Thanks!

Just cruise around looking for a flat empty driveway. Bam! Oil change.

You’ll surprised the places I’ve seen oil changes were performed.
Freeway off-ramp, auto parts store parking lot, Walmart parking lot, Costco parking lot, right shoulder of the freeway, and apartment complexes to name few.

In fact, here in Sacramento, there are a few places where you bring your oil and filter, they would change the oil for you for $10.

I live in Tahoe City and have tools/oil pan if you ever need to do a quick oil change ever. Don't have a garage but usually have lots of beer and a nice tarp to lay on haha. Hit me up.

    Thank you @cbrann35
The beer would certainly make-up for the chill!

I did manage to get the oil change done down the hill... - most importantly-I got the ValvoMax installed - that should make future oil changes easier!

For sure! How do you like the ValvoMax setup?

I like it... It is lower profile than the Fumoto, has a cover, and much stouter. Also comes with a handy metal plug with hose which should enable a drain without spilling a single drop!
