    This isn't that.

Likely a V8 with a normal tune and different ratios versus a mid-displacement V6, a crap Stock tune, and likely a truck of the same curb weight?

I’d say stalling is a driver issue.

    I believe you OP.
I had a '16 OR M/T that would do exactly what you describe. That off idle bog was dangerous IMO. The only thing that solved it at the time for me was tuning it. Later, Toyota released an updated calibration that got rid of that symptom (well, mostly).
Unlike some know it alls and loudmouth 2nd gen trolls in here, I'm not bench racing.

Get an automatic. Lots of manual shifting problems with these manual models.

This engine with automatic is trash and the manual solves the majority of the driveability problems with these trucks.

Toyotas last forever because they don't have enough power to hurt themselves, it's a well known fact that more power = more problems!

See the dyno charts. A big torque bump in the low end. It is a joy to drive off idle with the tune.

I don't have this problem??? OVTune certainly helped the engine lag at lower RPM.

Though, getting near 10,000 miles on this thing in the last couple months, my main complaint is the laggish engine. Having traded a half ton with more power and still having a 3/4 ton diesel with gobs of low end power, this concept of wrapping the piss out of an engine to get anywhere is absolutely foreign to me.
