I'm assuming the SR5 has a smoother ride on the street than the TRD Sport.

If so, how much of a difference is it?

My sr5 has soft suspension, nose dive on breaking, body roll on corners

Body roll on bumpy rocks off road

Kinda trash all around, at least the sport corners well on the street

I test drove the sport before buying my SR5. I personally didn't like the stiffer ride and much preferred the SR5. My advice test drive both and see what you prefer.

That's 100% personal preference, do you like stiffer or smoother. Try them out.

Are you keeping the stock tires? They make a big difference if you change them.

Test drive them both, preferably back to back if you can. The SR5 is a bit softer than the Sport, but the trade off, as others have mentioned, is nose dive and body roll. It's not as bad as the Off Road that I had, but a little more so than my Sport. I'm okay with the stiffer ride because I like the better handling characteristics of Sport. Others prefer the softer ride of the SR5 or even the Off Road. With that said, ride quality is very subjective, so the only way to really answer the question is through test drives.

I was going to keep the stock tires. Are you saying the stock tires are better for a smoother ride on the street?

If you’re comparing the two different vehicles for how it feels on the road and then change the tires afterwards that comparison would be invalid. If you are not changing tires then it’s a really good comparison. So drive them both. My SR5 drives like a truck with my 235/85 16 tires.

If I could do it again I'd buy an off-road over my sport. Not crazy about the stiffer suspension

Depends on how you use your truck. I test drive both TRD Sport and SR5. I ended up getting an SR5, smoother ride and I'm not going planning to do any off roading.

My 2020 sr5 access cab is just the opposite. Fairly stiff ride but its been getting better. No body roll...you can really lay into sharp corners at 60 mph. 0 nose dive. On rough whooped dirt roads it makes me feel like in my boat running against white caps. If not use to having sea legs...it will make you puke.
