Looking for recovery gear. Currently have a voodoo kinetic rope, soft shackles, and traction boards

I’ve been looking at the arb kit for $280 then found the tjm kit for $250. Has everything arb kit does plus winch line extension, gloves, and line dampener.

    https://www.tjmusa.com/recovery/rec...-kits/tjm-recovery-kit-large-867tjmrkit2.html

im not seeing any real reviews on the tjm gear. Australian made and appears to be similar quality to arb

    anyone running this gear?

    I have been using the K72 Rope - https://guardianofbravery.com/store/SOFT-SHACKLES-c76139050

Great gear. I have heard of ARB soft shackles to be okay. I think the rope they use is made in China.

Voodoo is probably much better than TJM or ARB when it comes to soft shackles or kinetic ropes, since I think they make it in USA. K72 Rope by guardian of bravery makes their gear in USA as well.

Talk to the owner, I chatted with them on instagram and they gave me a 10% off

I’ll check out those links. Wary of the arb kit since I have a kinetic rope think snatch rope may not be necessary. Also read that arb outsources shackles to China.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I would rather piece a kit together to match my specific needs. The ready kits are put together from one company’s offerings and are entirely focused on price.

Those Off-roading soft shackles break easy. They are not WLL tested. Took this snap shot from Amazon reviews.

Try buying soft shackles from companies that make it in the USA. The reason is that the ropes in the USA are tested based on the WLL (Work load Limit Pounds)

Thanks. Unfortunately I already purchased them, but the price was low and they won't see heavy use. I have the 1/2", heaviest version and will inspect them after every use.

Kits always have stuff you don't need, and you need stuff the kits don't have. They also generally include lower quality stuff than if you buy it separately. In the end you're likely not saving much, if any money by buying a 'kit'.

Get yourself a name brand 30' snatch strap, a big ass tow strap/winch extension (also 30'), a tree saver, some shackles. a snatch block, and pick up a few extra pairs of gloves next time you're at Home Depot (ones that actually fit, unlike the crap you get in some of these kits). While you're there, pick up a $15 shovel, either full size or the small ones if you're limited on space.
