I have a 2003 double cab and put a full Old man Emu suspension on. Front and rear. Leaf Springs, coil overs and rear nitro charger shocks. My understanding was that this suspension was geared for the extra weight I carry since I have a tent and fridge and drawers etc since its a family camping rig. The front is fine, tall lift and performed well this past week on the Mohave road but the rear sags. Badly. I bottomed out dozens of times. And I spot drive fast off-road.

Obviously the issue is weight so, I have ordered add a leafs and arb mentioned a they have a stiffer shock. Will the leaf and shock raise it correctly or should I go with an entirely different set up in the rear? Could the leaf pack be fatigued already since it’s so heavy? Do I need air bags?

I assume the springs and coils give the truck it’s lift and the shocks control the movement after an impact so leafs need addressed but maybe both? Looking for help.

I tried to pick a photo that might shape the sag some. Hope it helps. Thanks!

Did you get the leaf packs according to the weight you’re carrying?

I believe so... at least I believed so. I got the Dakar I believe that I understood to be rated for heavier weight as well as the nitro charger shocks.

You needed the Dakkar aal with your dakkar leaf pack for that weight.

I would have figured out the total weight you carry then looked for leaf packs with that rating. Ie, 400lb,600lb constant load etc.

D43xl is what you should have. You just need the optional aal. I believe mine are 8 pack with the overload spring.
