Does anybody know of a bedside rail replacement option that is something like the tie-down hooks on a base level HiLux (SR)?

There's something about the hooks that says "use me!". Why can't we get this?

That's old school 70's style right there.
Best you can find now are the autozone bolt on ones, but our bed sides aren't strong enough to tie a grapefruit down let alone anything of value or weight.

Don't the new tacos have the tie-down rail system thing?

Also, that truck is horribly ugly.

On the inner rails, yes. It's only strong enough for a 100lbs or so. Otherwise use the tie downs on the bedfloor.

I think it looks good. Like a 2 gen taco and a tundra made a baby.

If I'm being honest, the only thing that I don't like is the headlights and taillights. They intrude way too much into the shape of the body for my tastes.

It looks like someone bolted those metal rods you find at target that are used to hang towels on the wall in the bathroom.

It’s what the Ridgeline would look like if the Ridgeline was a real truck.

Odd question here, what tires are on that HiLux?

And yes, I'd love to see that for sale here in the US.

So you like the 80s rear windows with the little bar separating the movable window from the small rear pane? Retrofuturistic.

OP—You could fab something up using t-track that bolts on top of the bedsides and tailgate....

The Hilux tail gate is easy to obtain, but the width may be different. The side rails on the last several generations are stamped and fabricated into the inner bed panel. These can be purchased, but the shipping will drive the price up. The work to integrate the side rails into the Tacoma bed sides will also add up... but it would be very unique when completed. I just might go for it.
