ETA?

Good afternoon!

I just got confirmation from the dealer that my truck will be built tomorrow. With that said I hear most trucks are done in a day. How long would it take from tomorrow to arrive here in Chicagoland?

Not at this time. Just informed me that it’s being built tomorrow and they’ll let me know when the status changes to transportation. I’m guessing that’s when I’ll get an ETA from them

hmm.. its rare that a toyota dealership does special order build... but anyway think tacoma are built in mexico just a fun guess, 2-3 weeks

Haha I tried to get something special ordered but turned out the dealer had the same one to be built. Apparently they say each dealer gets 3-5 Pros a year and they get what they are told and luckily it’s the one I was looking for

Mine took exactly a month from the build date until delivery. If the truck is being built in Mexico, and you're in the northeastern U.S., most likely it will come by ship from Vera Cruz to Newark, N.J. You can track the vehicle carriers on various shipping websites. Look for departures of vehicle carriers from Vera Cruz.

 

Thank you for that info! Will definitely figure out from the dealer where it’s being manufactured. Fingers crossed it’s in the US. I always hear with importing from customs and all they take weird routes and can add time to arrival

Edit: looking at Toyota’s website, looks like TRD PROs are built in Texas

 

A VIN starting with "3" means made in Mexico. If made in Texas, most likely it would be shipped by rail.

 

It will typically take 4-6 weeks after build date. That is what I'm seeing on a pretty consistent basis at the Toyota dealership I work at. I would check with your salesperson 2 weeks after the build date to see if the system has updated. Once it hits "F" transit statues, the system will generate an expected date range on when it will land at the dealership.

 

My truck to about 3 weeks to arrive at the Dealer from Texas.

 

Haha especially after this winter storm I was worried it would delay it more

Update: out for transit! No ETA just yet! Looking online maybe Friday to around Tuesday I shall receive it!

 

Build date: March 2, 2021. Switched to transit same day.
Expected arrival: March 15-17
Expected delay: March 19-22
Turned out March 17 truck arrived to dealer but had to go through final inspections
March 19, 2021 - Drove her home

Build to Dealer: 15 days
Build to Home: 17 Days
