    Hi everyone,

My 2020 Tacoma is an access cab, hence no cargo lights.
No switch, no bedside lights, no 3rd brake light that doubles as a cargo light.

But, it seems the harness for adding it all exists.

the dash area harness ends at a connector with 5 wires, as seen on someone else's picture below.

Obviously the factory rocker switch is a 3 position switch.
Does anyone know what the circuit diagram looks like for the switch?

If not, if someone has time to pull it out and just measure the pin to pin continuity across the 3 positions of the rocker, I can figure it out from there.

Obviously my left hand switch panel doesn't have a place for the factory switch and realistically I don't see a reason to not just run a jumper to keep it in "on with door" at all times.

That picture is NOT the cargo switch connector...it's for the 120AC inverter switch.

I dont think that is the same connector as in the picture. Did they change it with 2020?

aha, sorry for posting a wrong pic.
I will actually look at the connector in my truck today and pay attention to what color wires it has coming to it, and confirm with caribe's diagram. (thanks!)

so if im understanding correctly, I can have pin 5/9 jumpered for always "on with door"
and the connector I can order to interface directly to the existing harness end is 90980-10800
Do you know what the pin p/ns are? (i'm not familiar with Toyota's stuff yet)

I should be able to figure out with a multimeter to see if which end is 12V and which end needs grounds and have a toggle switch across pins, but in case you are open to helping some more, what pins do i connect via a toggle switch to have an "ON" function as well?

    thanks!

"My 2020 Tacoma is an access cab, hence no cargo lights."

Interesting... but, why wouldn't any of the Access Cabs have cargo lights ?

My 2021 Access Cab does not have a cargo light integrated with the high-mounted third brake light. But I installed the bed lighting kit, for which the truck was pre-wired. I had to add the dash switch, but the cargo light relay was already present.

Anyone happen to know what controls the time delay of how long the bed lights stay on after a door gets closed if the switch (or jumper in my case) is set to "door"?

I have a 2021 TRD (access cab) and want to install the cargo lights, which I just received from Amazon. Any suggestions for which 3-way rocker switch and relay to order? Do I need anything else? Any notes about installation would be a big help. I'm totally new to Tacomas, but not an idiot about electrical things. Thanks!

Hm.. this isn't about the dome light off delay?
the dome light delay seems to be independent of the bed lights. as in the bed lights turn off before the dome lights turn off....

I typed that and then went out to check if I am remembering correctly, and maybe I'm not. at least this time when i closed the door the bed lights turned off right as the dome light started fading.
    I'll look into it again.

    thanks

The Cargo Lamp doesn't fade off, but it's the same circuit controlling both.

Go into the HU menu and change the timing, place the Cargo Switch at DOOR setting. Exit vehicle, close door...go and observe the cargo and bed lights as you press lock. Time the off...report back.:burp:

After way too long and too much effort needed to get this connector housing after an online dealership decided to close up shop after taking my order and not responding to attempts to contact them forever I finally accomplished this super simple jumper and am very happy with the results. Thanks for the help!7291A158-3661-4E80-9620-B6C756433E01.jpg
