I've only owned a Vizio TV for the past 5 years and don't know to much about TV's. I got a giftcard from Bestbuy for Christmas and want to use it to replace my older 42" Vizio TV. I'm currently looking at this TV

Anyone have any experience with Sharp as a company or this particular TV?

It's currently on sale for $1,399 and this is the biggest I can go in my area. The 55" models are unfortuanely to long. 99% of the reviews I see are good, just want to check in with my TW folks for advice. I would prefer a LED-LCD for the thin-ness and viewing angles. :D

ive had several sharps and have two now. one is a 25 inch old picture tube style that works fine still. if i had to guess id say its at least 10 yrs old and was the main tv most of that time. got a 37 inch sharp lcd that ive had for maybe 2-3 yrs and no issues with it either.

A buddy of mine has a 32" lcd...nice picture, but poor interface imo. FWIW, I have a Sony lcd, and am satisfied w/it.

I down graded from I pioneer to a 46' sharp LCD about 4 years ago. (after marriage) I have to say I love this sharp, not one problem and picture quality is equal to my older tv that was 3x the cost. I say go for...

We've got a 42" Sharp Aquos in our main lazy-room. Aesthetically, it's a good looking tv, but man, I fucking hate the thing.

We have a Samsung (bedroom) and a Sony XBR (man-cave) that blows it away in comparison (audio and video). The Sharp is fine for most cable tv experiences though. However, I can't say that for gaming and movie experiences.
