I'm wondering if anybody has any knowledge in converting the factory e-locker into a manually shifted locker with a knob or cable set up.

Any previous experience/pictures would be killer

So all the bull shit and ego posturing aside. The biggest question is what are you going to be using the locker for? How often are you going to utilize it? manual or auto? For my build I planning on doing a FJ t-case w/a marlin taco box, so for the locker i will utilize a 12voltguy stand alone switch for my rear E-locker engagement. As much as i like cables, having my hands free after flipping a switch is essential to me and the driving i do [ plan on doing ]. i understand different people have a multitude of opinions. You will have to figure out what best aligns with your ideas and needs. best of luck on this journey. keep in mind there is no wrong answer....

I guess a little backstory would help, sorry after work buzz lol

Had the usual toyota 4x4 actuator problems and did the fj tcase swap and I manually engaged my front diff with a power probe lol truck handles like a tank until it flexes too much. I end up just trying to power brake to compensate for my stupid 4x4 ecu needing a 4lo input. I'll probably just do what you said and run a switch to it if it even still works.

there are other ways to engage you e-locker. e-locker anytime mods on TW also work very well and don't cost medium dollars. just elbow grease and willingness to cut your harness.... don-don-don none of us that really wheel care if the harness is hacked. it's what is your comfort level. in my 854r i ran a Yukon Grizzly in the rear and a trd e-locker in the front in a modded housing. i loved it!!! never failed and was always the talk of the trail. the 4x4 [ADD module] only requires an input to "show engagement" for operation. i'll see if i can't dig up the wiring over the weekend.

Chilkat makes a manual kit for them, a little pricey but it works well.
