With the small extension I put on, the phone can swivel to the full capability of the ball mount.

I really didn't like not being able to see or easily reach the left hand buttons of the factory radio I had to make another mod to the Course Motorsports bracket. I took a flat bracket and shaped is so that I could attach the right side of the bracket to the top left bolt of the radio (where Course Motorsports designed their bracket to fit). I then took the Course Motorsports bracket and attached it to the left side of the bracket I made using a screw, nut, washer and lock washer. I put a couple bends in my bracket to follow curve of the area behind the bezel. The end result is the Course Motorsports bracket now sits a couple of inches to the left and the cell phone no longer covers the radio buttons. With the extension I put on and with the relocation, I can now adjust the phone so there is no glare and it no longer covers the radio buttons.

What happens when I get a new phone and need another magnetic plate for it? It doesn't look like they are sold separately?

So far, 2 kids' booster seats and 1 infant seat all on the rear seat. Right now, running stock. Planning to take my time with the modding to see what I really need.
Can you post some photos of the extension that you added on the CM mount? Without the phone. And maybe some pics without the charger, so we can see how it attached to the mount. Thanks for your insight into all of this.

I will get it to you as soon as I can, but I am out of town and won't be back for a couple of weeks.

I guess "extension" was the incorrect term here.

I meant the flat bracket that allowed @Two Yutes to shift the mount over closer towards the driverside.

Sorry for the delay, I was away from home and my truck for the last few weeks. Here are a couple of photos that show the additional bracket I created. I took the original bracket and had to cut it down and re-bend it at various locations so it would work in its new location just to the left of the original location. You can see scratched up bracket I created and how I attached the original bracket to it. Hope this helps

Thanks for following up on this. I ordered my Direct Mount a couple of weeks ago. Then they became backordered. CM said it should be back in stock this week and hopefully ships before 3/31.

I already received my small threaded extension that I got from ebay.

I already have a wireless autolocking charger that I have been using and I think will attach to the Direct Mount ball. It looks like you did the same thing.

To me this would be perfect with a 1” ram ball. Where we can attach whatever we want extension arms etc. this is what I got rigged up but make one with a 1” ram ball and take my money. This is what I got rigged up

Sorry everyone, apparently if you don't check your thread after one post you stop getting all notifications. I didn't know people we're responding here.

@CourseMotorsports , I think it's a great idea for a phone holder, I like how sleek and easy the install is. However I pretty much never use this (still installed) because it shakes like the other people have said, which makes it hard to see my maps and dashboard. But more importantly, on a normal road, my phone (iphone 12) will last about 10 minutes before falling off. I really hope you guys come up with a different design/clip like you were saying, I'd be more than happy to be the first tester/reviewer for it.

I got this from another thread about this same CSM phone mount and I can confirm that this works much better than the magnet and it fits great. I highly recommend getting this and ditching the magnet if you have any issues with shaking and/or your phone falling off.

I love your extension! Can I ask where you got the thread adaptor? I just ordered my CM phone mount and am thinking I also might need/want the adapter you used.

"So I took a 10-32 RH Female thread adapter M5x1 and placed it in between the mount and the ball"
