I went with a Foxtrot Mike complete upper, includes BCG. I’m sure it’s not the highest quality BCG but for the price these get pretty solid reviews.

I was looking at those POFs, heard good things. Thinking that or a CMC. Larues look nice as well.

Function tested the 300 blk today. Ran well for the 20 rounds I ran through it. Ammo sucks right now haha. Larue MBT-2S is comparable to the Geissle SSA-E. Definitely lived up the hype, especially for $80

I would double check some forums on 9mm Foxtrot Mike BCG and see if there are any reccommendations.

Being a native Texan, CMC was my first premium trigger purchase. It would not reset. And I was not alone (Just google "CMC trigger would not reset"). They promptly replaced with zero hassle...and the new one worked perfectly (this was on 556 ar).

Again as a native Texan, I love all things LaRue...this is their only inexpensive product and I believe this trigger is the best bang for your buck.

POF, I too had heard good things, tried it out and think it is the best trigger I have tried and has a reasonable price. Today I just happen to notice the POF website says it does not recommend their trigger with any 9mm PCC? Go Figure, I have never once had a failure with it.

I dont think you can go wrong with any of them.

Rainy day today, so figured I'd pull the parts out to build the next AR.

These rolls pins are a pain in the ass, especially the bolt catch one. I finally used some small channel locks to just squeeze it in.

I have a Larue lower just sitting in the safe, waiting for the next build, which will a little more special than this one. All in all, I have a little over $500 in this build, so it’s just another rifle for one of my boys to use if they ever need to. I’m happy with the result. Time for some sights and some range time!

I have a set of small channel locks wrapped in electrical tape that stay in my build kit, just for this purpose.

I wrapped mine with a couple of layers of painters tape. All in all, I got away unscathed with no scratches or gouges!

I always start them with a roll pin punch, drive them home with the channel locks, and inset them with steel punch.

That was my first AR build and I’ll admit that it wasn’t that bad. I have a Larue lower in the safe, that I’m going to do a 20” build with when funds allow. I think next time, it will be much easier!

Mine is partially threaded so you just thread the pin into it.

    Hello fellow gun owners!
Just finished my first build still waiting on my stock to get delivered. Then it is all furniture.
But wanted to probe for optic recommendations as I've just started doing my homework. I Want something for <100m game and >300m. going to purchase separate devices per each. Mostly wanted to hear brands that are paying for a name vs quality per dollar vs trash per dollar. I know squat about this aspect of industry lol.. TIA

I usually use about 1/2" of electrical tape wrapped around the punch and the pin. Most of it on the punch with only about 1/8" on the pin. Drive it half way in, remove tape, drive pin the rest of the way home. Of all the ways I've read online this is the only way I've had repeated success without marring the finish.
