    Your typical overlander mods
Thanks for all the photos @Jmillie52! Definitely helped with I’ll need to do to fit the tires. Looks like there’s plenty of room with the 6112’s and spc’s. Wonder how well they stuff into the fenders and how much more cutting will be required

Almost there. Should be picking up rubber on Sunday. Unless someone drastically changes my mind about tire choice.

    Lol, Oh Yes, PLEASE.

Maaaaannnn... trying to justify to my wife the cost of a regear was not a battle I was going to win. Yet.

I mean, honestly, even the 34 is pushing it in my opinion w/o regearing.

Tire choice btw was in regards to what has grown to be my favorite tire, the ST Maxx, vs trying something new. Either the Ridge Grappler or the Geolandar G003. As of this very moment, no one has been able to provide enough reason to move away from the cooper, aside from weight and cost. Neither of which are substantial enough for me to want to roll the dice.

34’s this size is next step for my truck, been lurking on here for a long time waiting for my current tires to die. Also waiting on King to complete building my fronts which might make it by summer? Lol.
I also want to skip the regear, as well losing complete fender liners compared with 35’s.

Sorry little Billy. The orthodontist is just going to have to wait. Just think of it as, your own personal character definition. People thought Austin Powers was cool.

I still don't seem to understand how so many people still have inner fender liners. Lol. Not bagging on you, sorry if it comes off that way. I just hear everyone always talking about them, concerned about trimming them, etc. Just ditch them. Then no worries :D

I do have to express, that I expect full disappointment in myself for not being regeared. I'm on 33's right now, and OV tune, but it's still pretty obvious that the truck is not happy with the stock ratio. At some point regearing will be a thing for me. Maybe when one of my kids becomes successful and wants to be awesome to me still. Hah.

Canadian my friend, lol do you picture me wheeling on sunny beaches or in something else

No fender Liners means add a snorkel. Not to keen on that look.

So i need to do some more trimming.

Anyone trim that white area? I cut off the flang that intrudes into the wheel well, but apparently this is where I'm rubbing when going up my incline driveway and work parking garage.

After weeks of debating between 315/70 and 285/75, ended up with the 285/75/17s. Anyone able to avoid adjusting caster without rubbing? I plan on getting it adjusted after I raise the fronts and get spindle gussets welded on.

Side by side comparison from my 285/70/17 KO2's (despite them mounted in the photo)

Tires will get installed this morning

Ah I see. Fair Point :D I may not get as diverse of weather as you might, but the truck definitely sees less than socal conditions quite frequently. I've always just tried to be mindful about the fact that my intake port is exposed. Also I've placed some drainage holes at the lowest point of the pre-filter side of the air box, just in case. For what it's worth, my fender liners were not removed by choice, but forcefully and unintentionally. I just saw it as "well, seems like they were in the way... guess that fixed itself." haha. When I first went to the 255/85s, I only had the front adjusted to about 1.5". One good 'send-it' jump later, and the fender liners were gone. Whoops!

    Did the thing today....

    20210328_152736.jpg 20210328_152838.jpg

    Instant regret....

Of not having done this sooner! :D

So far clearance seems great. Hit a small forest road trail on my way home (totally out of the way, lol) , but intend to get some more trail time soon to really see what the clearance is like when flexing bits.

Looks great, drives nice. A little more wandery than the 255's but nothing to complain about. Extra weight isn't all that noticeable. Compared to the 255s on the trdor wheels, these assemblies are 4.5lbs hevier per wheel.

Yup. I have. I actually did it prior to going to the 34's, but it was probably best anyways. I'll take a pic for you when I get a chance.

Lol, don't judge me. I've been meaning to snip off the little flap that I folded over the lower fender mounting bolt. I've just been incredibly lazy. When I cut everything, all I had with me was the angle grinder, and didn't have my snips readily accessible. So I just folded it back. "It's protecting the fender bolt from abrasion"

x2 here. After I had the 285/75’s installed Saturday, I trimmed it some more and actually bent it inwards with a hammer away from the tire

Is it hard plastic or metal? Waiting for my angle grinder to deliver.

    Some pics would be great.
