Oh, damn! Nice combo for sure. I recently sold my first version of the 70-200. I felt it was a bit too soft for my liking. Currently playing with the RF 35mm 1.8 macro and I'm not sure how I feel about the lens in general.

I found the wider macros difficult since I have to get so close to everything. My main macro now is the canon 100mm macro. Overall I don’t use primes a ton I always try to but never put them in my bag.

My only prime is a Canon nifty fifty. Primes can have amazing sharpness but being at their mercy for shooting distance can be limiting.

I don't know if you've ever used extension rings but with one of my lenses, my glass was touching the thing I was trying to take a picture of and I still couldn't get close enough to focus.

The 100mm macro is on my "thinking about it" list. As far as shooting I used to use a zoom when I was on crop sensor (Sigma 18-35mm f1.8) but when I switched to full sensor I fell in love with primes all over again. I have the Sigma 24mm and 85mm 1.4 primes that I love and currently, as stated, testing out the RF 35mm 1.8. I'm leaning towards selling it but gonna give it a couple more months of shooting with it before I decide.
