Going to look at some 4Runners this weekend. The Limiteds are definitely nice, but not sure how I feel about being AWD. Don’t have any plans to lift above 2-3” max (will be wife’s car). It will probably get at least leveling kit and some ATs. It may take a trip thru the pasture or pull a small boat here and there.
But she wants a sunroof and it’s hard to find those on a SR5. There are a couple XPs I’ve found that are possibilities.

    Looking at ‘13+ models.

    Pros/Cons of either?
Things I should look for? (Besides basics)

Limited has some niceties you can't get on the SR5 and that would be almost impossible to add (heated and cooled seats, dual zone climate, button on the trunk to open and close the rear window, etc) and some others that set it apart (fancy bumpers). They come with bigger wheels and as you know full-time 4WD. SR5 has selectable 2WD/4WD. Sunroof can be found on SR5 Premium but they're slim pickings. Really comes down to if you want the luxury features of the Limited or if the SR5 will suffice (and if you want to be able to pick 2WD/4WD). Both will handle the pasture and boat just fine, and will be fine with the leveling kit and ATs. If you don't care about the features I'd just set your budget and buy the newest, nicest one you can swing.

Thanks! That’s about what I thought, I just was a little unsure of the full-time 4wd/AWD. I still like the SR5 for the selectable 2/4wd.

Yup, then just find the best and nicest SR5 with a sunroof that you can swing. Can always add leather seats (or covers) after the fact. If you don't need full-time 4WD or cooled seats, the Limited is just unnecessary.

I have a 2018 Limited and the wife and I really like the full-time. It's great for mixed road conditions where you have a mixture of snow, ice, and dry pavement, even just wet pavement. It really sticks to the road glue. I would get it again.

I do think that once the stock tires need to be changed, I'll change the 20" wheels to 17" TRDs (however I plan to keep the 20" for dedicated snow tires).

Also, I saw this super cool Limited at the 2019 Expo East. What a great overlanding setup!
