I’ve done 3 18v (parallel) and one 36v (series) upgrades for my boys and friends kids jeeps. the 36v has been Phone gps clocked around 27mph. Metal gears swapped out for stock plastic in the gearboxes with 770 motors. I used a speed controller (potentiometer) on all of them to control the level of Send. Also used voltage cutoff switches (so drill batteries don’t drain 100%) and brake capacitor when they let off the pedal it’s not slamming them into the steering wheel. Mltoys.com is a great resource for parts and tutorials.

My wife’s cousin just offered my boys his old ‘07 crf50 to tool around the yard...
She has no idea what we’re getting into powersports wise.

down there are a ton of beach rentals that do student housing for the school year. Unfortunately/fortunately my coworker who had a beach rental just sold hers right before last seasons pandemic shit show. I can ask her if she knows and landlords down there though still. Looking for a 2 bed 1 bath?

Yep, MLToys. I just went with the 18v kit and the cut off switch (brake capacitor) so it doesn't keep slamming off when you release the go pedal. I did consider using my drill batteries but didn't want to toast them, wanted to keep my tools separate from the toys. I really debated the 24v kit but, since I'm not upgrading the motors or gears, I didn't want to just completely roast the motors and end up with something unusable or be forced to upgrade the motors. I was watching the 12v stock power plant struggle going up the little hill in our back yard with both of them in the truck (they often ride with both of them) and wanted to give them a little more 'umph'. I'm hoping this gets them by for a little while, I don't think I'll go nuts with the Power Wheels since the rest of the vehicle isn't well built. We already tore the front end apart because the wheels were pointing in 2 different directions so we did a makeshift 'alignment'. Next step will very likely be a small ATV or dirt bike.

Looks like Thursday and Friday nights will dip down to sub-30s, after that it doesn't look cold at nights - looks like I'll be spreading some clover seed this weekend!

my 3yo wanted a dirt bike for his 3rd birthday; he had to make due with a new pedal bicycle. Couple 50cc bikes or atvs aren’t too far away. I still haven’t cranked the 18v Jeeps to full send yet. (2 parallel Milwaukee fuel 6.0ah 18s) because the kid’s have been watching too many hoonigan videos with pops.
Down the line dad will need a nice 450 to keep up.
Wifey can sit on the screen porch and take the go-pro video content for the ‘gram...or life insurance.

Just started running again to attempt to train for the 100 mile race I attempted 2 years ago, and was cancelled last year. Me and a buddy ran 2.5 miles at blue hills this morning, so pretty sure i'm good to go.

Also, I forgot just how much I hate running.

Legitimately yes. The goal this time is not to go out hot. Literally power walk the whole thing like old people and we could finish in the 48 hour limit. Last time we went out and ran the first ~ 28 miles, then made it to 73 miles power walking and running downhills in ~20 hours and were basically dead. I'm not sure if it helped or hurt, but we also felt it was a good idea to drink a beer after every ~28 mile loop.#science. If anyone wants to do something real dumb feel free to join.
