I do not recall all the specifics of your truck so am losing context as to your troubleshooting... Do you have an aftermarket exhaust and is that why you've resorted to these $200 specialized O2 sensors?

I have catted downpipes, which came with the turbo kit and replace the OEM pipes

In addition, they're not sensors. They're spacers for the sensors, and they have miniature cat converters on them in order to help fool the sensors. The high flow cats on the turbo kit downpipes are apparently not enough to avoid popping the CEL

For anybody that goes ahead with the Fabspeed spacers that I linked above, you'll want the following tools:

    - o2 sensor socket; mine is 7/8 which I believe comes out to a 22mm if I'm not mistaken, or 23, one of those.

    - 23mm wrench
*Not strictly necessary but it came in handy. Probably because I was also removing the cheapo sensor spacers I'd initially put in.

    - 27mm wrench for the thicc boi nut that comes with the Fabspeed pieces. Secures the 45 and 90-deg fittings to the bung on your y-pipe.

I'll keep you updated like I said if the CEL comes back or not, but if you order from Fabspeed you may want to look into ordering ahead of time, because there's a lead time of 4-5 weeks on their made to order items. I ordered on 15Feb and received them on Wednesday.

Or just tolerate having the CEL while driving during the wait. I got used to it, ignored it, but I also would've had no idea if something was going wrong with my truck if it wasn't obvious lol

So the codes returned after about 70 miles. So, you know, that's a major fucking disappointment.

When I get home from work, I will get under there to confirm that the spacers didn't simply come loose. If they're still tight, then they're a confirmed failure I suppose.

My only other thought from here on out may be that if they keep the CEL away for 70mi or so, perhaps it would be feasible to receive two final maps from @OVTune : one map with the codes disabled for 99.9% of the year and then one with the sensors enabled normally and just flash to that before getting an inspection done and it would presumably pass...? :notsure:

Did you by chance check in TS to see if it had completed the emissions cycle or whatever they call it? There may be that nice 20 mile grace period where you can pass emissions before the CEL comes on.

No I haven't done that. Not even sure how to check that, may have to dig around in there and see if I can find that then

I also cleared the codes in the parking lot at work this morning. I'll have a 17.5 mile drive home. Should be long enough to then use TS to determine if it's completed that emissions cycle then, no? Whatever that is. I'll have to find out what it looks like.

There is a procedure in the SM for completing the emissions cycles in the fastest way possible, but I need to find it again. Torque will also report readyness status.

I've been holding out for years on that Torque app, maybe I'm overdue and should finally cave in lol

The free version does quite a bit. I don't use it much but it has come in handy just for reading codes and stuff.

I may have completed the drive cycle, unsure.

And idk if I'd be able to see if it was completed and the interval between then and the cel coming up

On Torque, there is a window on the dashboard that will show Readiness steps when connected.

Does it have you go through steps and driving scenarios to then establish readiness? Or does it just read it out and you're done?

Mind pointing me to the OBD2 device you're using with the app?

It is just a bunch of text that shows what components are Complete and what ones are Incomplete / Not Ready. They will all naturally complete as you drive normally. The Readiness Drive Cycle is just the fastest way to complete them.

I don't have the Taco or I would get a better screenshot for you.

I have a 7yr old ELM327 clone. It still works great with all of the OBD apps. I got it for about $15 from NewEgg.com . At the time, the big deal was that it was verified to work with Torque.

If I was buying today, I would either get the Carista one as it is a known or the VeePeak:

    https://caristaapp.com/adapter

    Cheap VeePeak:
    https://www.amazon.com/Veepeak-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Supports-DashCommand/dp/B011NSX27A

VeePeak that I would buy if I was buying now:
    https://www.amazon.com/Veepeak-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Supports-Vehicles/dp/B076XVQMVS
But, I honestly do not know if BT 4.0 actually helps with anything?

One big note is that the Taco OBD port is in a shitty spot. Those adapters are pretty small, but an extension cable might not be a bad idea:
