I tow with my taco frequently and will do so more when I retire later this year. Been upgrading the truck lately due to a combination of it finally being paid off and my own boredom.

I’d like to upgrade the stock exhaust and the videos here and on YouTube with exhaust notes are mostly revving at a stop or running through the gears accelerating.

When towing I’m usually at 4th gear about 2800 rpm at highway speeds for hours on end and up grades it’s not uncommon to be in 3rd at 3500 rpm to keep the tranny from hunting all over the place.

At your convenience, can someone please post a clip of the exhaust brand and sound inside the cab at those two gears/rpm so I can see if the noise is to excessive?

I don’t want to compound the issue with the wife bitching about the noise (Funny, when we were dating a 40 years ago she didn’t seem to have an issue with growl from my ‘66 GTO).

    Thanks in advance.

Not to be a downer, but an aftermarket exhaust really isn't going to do much besides confirmation bias and louder.

Better money spent would be a tune.

I am with @Grossomotto on investing in a tune to clear up the gear hunting especially if your truck is mostly stock and you do not want to regear (those the tunes are great for that also). If you need someone in your area I can look for a lead that can assist in tuning but please feel free to PM any questions on it also...I'm happy to help where I can.

Will do on the PM. Will search here to see what the tune involves. It’s stock except for the K&n intake tube with stock box, spacer, and soon to arrive 9drive.
