Shops that Re-Gear

Wondering if there is a solid recommendation for shops that do gearing around Seattle? I know I can go to Nitro in Cashmere and have reached out to them for a quote. I have called and emailed Randy's in Everett. I know there is some dude in a van down by the river in PDX that does them for crazy cheap ($1600). I can buy the third members from ECGS and do them on a lift at my work but lets be honest, I'm lazy. I drove a coworkers truck today on 5.29's and see why they are needed.

 

Mule, Auburn off-road and Randy’s Ring and Pinion all charge around $3300 when I inquired a month or so ago.

 

What’s the turnover on something like this? Same day?

 

I heard Achtuning in Redmond will toss in the ECGS kit. The techs kind of suck though. /S

 

what do you mean “toss in”? And how much do they charge?

 

Both Josh and I work at Achtuning. He is a tech and I’m our parts manager. Neither of us want to do the gears in my truck. Our labor price would probably be inline with what other local shops are charging but we would allow for carry in parts.

Nope, we don’t do any shock rebuilding. Supposedly there is somebody in Kent/Auburn area that can but the only thing we’ve ever had them do was shorten a shock for our owners motorcycle.

 

well this is good to know, do you guys have a tube for a C4 urs6 avant with rs2 turbo, green top injectors and 3” exhaust? My brother has been looking for someone to tune it for a while now

 

Best bet for local custom tuning is Amd in Woodinville. Can be a pita getting scheduled but for custom stuff they really are the best guys for the job. We do APR and Unitronic software but they primarily cater to the 2000 and newer cars.

 

Includes the first gear oil change too.

 

I just ordered a Magnuson so gears will have to wait a little while longer while I recover or recoup some funds by selling off more bike parts.
