Vibrations

I just made a post on this but I have more questions. After lifting my truck I got 5 inches in the back and 3 in the front. My rear leafs were shot is why the number is so high the back is only an inch higher than the front. Anyways, it vibrates under acceleration from 15 to 25 then completely goes away after. I bought 3 degree axle shims but I've been hearing those might not be the right solution. Any idea helps, thank

You did 883s up front, but remind me what the rear is?

It's likely that when you measured before the lift, your worn out springs were sagging. So if they were sagging an inch, a 3" lift will actually be 4" higher than when you started. The other thing is that the springs will settle a fair amount. You can speed this up either by jumping it (lol) or just tossing some sand bags or other heavy stuff back there and driving around a while.

 

Dakar cs019r and yes 883s. I'm just a little lost on what to do with the angles because it isn't drivable until I get it fixed.

 

Now that the truck is lifted , did you correct your new driveshaft angles ?

 

That's the problem I don't know how to go about doing that. Any suggestions? I can send a pic

 

a picture is worth 1000 words but you need to get under the truck with all 4 wheels on the ground and check your angles .

I'm sure I could look it up but what should my angles be?

 

Looks like my rear angle is 3 and my center support bearing angle is 9. Hmmmm

wow , youve got some nasty angles on that rear shaft . thankfully you have a double cardan joint at the center bearing .
i would suggest lowering your center bearing with some spacers and longer bolts in an attempt to help straighten that rear shaft .
The universal joint operating angles need to be less than 3 degrees apart as the driveshaft spins

 

I'll try it but will that thange it by 6 degrees?? Would an axle wedge even help

 

axle wedge will help .
even a bunch of weight in the back of the truck box will help at that angle .

Anybody know about single peice driveshafts? Sounds like if my axles shims don't work that's my only other option
