Greetings all! Not a stranger to Toyota...had a 1990 model that I loved when in college (bought in 1997), and then 3 Tundras (my current Daily Driver is a 6.7 Superduty....as I needed something to tow heavy and Toyota didn't make anything big enough. If they did, I'd own it!).
I wanted to get a 1990-2004 model pickup or Tacoma....something my son could drive in a year and I could use for some trail riding with a friend who has a jeep.

Looked for a couple months....my wish list was a unicorn. Clean frame, 3.4 V6, A/C, 5 Speed, locker, ext cab. I live in NW PA....RUST BELT AND SNOW BELT!

Prices are pretty high. But, it is what it is. I found one and took a trek to pick it up today. 120,000 miles on it. Has some dings from 19 years of use. Interior is clean. Motor seems strong.

    Looking for some insight:
    - It has 16" wheels. I'd like to replace. Not looking to put a big lift on this or anything. I saw that 1996-2002 4 runner wheels may work? I can find them remanufactured on EBAY for a decent price...
    - Was looking at some Goodyear dura tracks or Cooper off road tires. Stock tire is 265-70-16. Can I go any larger with stock suspension?
    - Thinking of replacing rear spring pack and doing add a leaf. Want to pickup a little more capacity in the rear and get rid of the sag. Any suggestions? Replace shocks too? Front?

I've been cruising this site looking for some ideas...and appreciate any insight (and pictures) you have.

With the luck you had finding that, I'd head right for the casino ;)

I hear you...it was tough. And...wow...some of these trucks are commanding $15K for 200,000 miles! Some were $16K with 120K miles and had some frame/etc. issues.
I am excited to make this my own....

If I was smart and 25yrs younger, I'd fill a transport full of Tacoma's and head North

@UCPA111 great find - it'll last and more than pay for itself with proper maintenance.
