Well I finally got the 6112/5160 suspension installed on my sport(2019).

After researching for literally months and debating between 5100/Fox 2.5 pro/6112 I settled on the 6112/5160 because of the great price and the quality of Bilstein. I am all about bang for your buck, and I don't want to be rebuilding every 50k. These are my current initial impressions of the suspension, and hopefully it will aid you in choosing between this and something else.

So to start off, I wanna say that the sport suspension was not horrible as long as you are on newer, smoother roads. It was actually extremely nice riding in that case. As soon as I got into washboard, uneven, or older roads, it was head jarring. Offroading was just painful. I took a girl on a date and hit a speed bump and her whole head slammed forward and her hair went everywhere. I was ready to get something new!!!

6112s at the time of posting this are hard to find. I heard through the grapevine that rogue offroad had them and quickly called them to confirm. I bought them and ended up doing the #3/#4 notches which gives a 1" lift. I got the 5160s on facebook marketplace for about retail price. Everywhere else these were both back ordered 2-3 months.

I got a local shop to install them for 300 bucks, and just drove it for the first time.

WOW. I seriously love them. The best way to describe it is it has the same stiffness as the sport, but in a good way. It will apparently soften up during a break in, and it already has to some degree. It feels controllable and planted like the sport suspension, but now dampens any bump or unevenness in the road much, much better. It's a huge improvement. I can only compare them to the sport suspension, but man, it is so much nicer. I took it to a small patch of land and drove it through a field and then some dirt piles, and it makes all of those bumps and ditches so much less jarring. Huge speed bumps that before would make my head bump the ceiling now literally are significantly less noticeable. Very smooth on road. Keep in mind these are digressive.

Super happy with my purchase, and I hope this helps someone. Feel free to ask any questions.

Edit: 3k miles later, still hasnt softened up like I hoped it would. Sucks on washbaord roads. May sell them honestly and buy fox

update. They seem to have softened up now. It rides a lot better than it did initially. Keeping!!!!

Is it really that much different? I can just barely tell the difference going from stock OR suspension to king extended travel RR shocks with 600lb springs and OME standard leaf packs.

offroading, bumps, and just generally rough terriain is a lot less jarring. The road feel and smoothness is about the same, maybe a little better than the sport suspension; but like I said I never thought the sport suspension was bad until I got to rough or old roads.

Also apparently it softens out after a break in period. I will keep you guys updated.

Have you hit any washboard roads yet? I’ve been debating this combo aswell. What did you go with for leaf springs? Any photos of before and after?

Well I've put about 3k miles on it so far and I would say the ride is very comparable to stock sport suspension on washboard roads honestly man. Maybe a little smoother? Everyone is saying it softens up, so still waiting to see if that happens. Bigger bumps are no doubt smoother and less jarring. As for leaf springs, I'm currently running stock. I was originally planning on dong one inch in the front to sit level, but Rogue offroad assembled the 6112 incorrectly and added an extra half inch in the front. I HATE bro lean. So i'm looking at the icon rxt leaf spring packs. Probably going to pull the trigger this week. I hear they actually make ride quality better. Will post pics as soon as i get a chance.

You happen to have any pictures? I have some in my garage sitting on 3/4 settings that I will be installing soon. Debating if I want to stick with that or go to 4/5. Thanks for taking to the time to post your feedback.

Kinda has a little bit of bro lean. I’m either gonna replace it completely with fox pro take offs or get an icon leaf pack to fix

I have Wheelers 3 leaf AAL I will be installing also. Did yours settle much after the 3k miles?

I had a nice spirited test drive of a 2020 Pro and was quite impressed with the factory Fox set up. It rode very nice and soaked up as much as I could find while just test driving. Makes me wonder how the Fox 2.5 (no resi) would ride.

Not really from what I can tell. Rides same as stock sport to be honest. It’s still stiff but it takes bigger bumps and stuff a lot better. Fox pro suspension is no doubt more comfortable. That’s why I’m considering Switching
