I just got new tires for my gen2 PreRunner. 265/70/17. I had this size before with no issues in KO2. This time I went with Falcon Wildpeaks. Now when turning, I can hear a little rub. Should I be concerned in long run? I am not one to spend money and labor if not truly needed but would I be best to add gen3 takeoff suspension? Read it adds about 1” to a gen2. Do I need add a leaf and shims? All advise welcome.

Figure out where it's rubbing and get back to us, with pics. Might only need to heat some plastic liner to reshape it.

Looks like just a tad rub on mud flap mount. Should this be ok to just let it go? upload_2021-3-31_15-0-7.jpg

Don't just leave it. Put a heat gun on the plastic and then flatten it out. Hold the shape you want until the plastic cools. Or cut it. Or remove the mud flap.
If you are rubbing when turning, you are going to rub more when you cycle the suspension a bit. Easy fix, might as well do it.

Just cut it with some scissors. Way too much liner with bumps in the wheel well.

I had the same issue on my 265/75/16 where it rubbed at full lock on the mud flaps on the driver side. And from your photos, it's exactly where mine rubbed too. The most budget friendly way is just take off your mudflaps, or put a heat gun to it. That fixed my problems until I saved enough for a good lift

I am trying to avoid throwing money and time into a lift on an almost 10 year old truck. I needed tires and that is the only reason I bought them. Was going to trade the truck in but didn’t get what I needed on trade to make the deal work so I am keeping another year or two.

Removing the flaps will help. They are pretty thick at the mount. You might be able to get a little more clearance by adding some caster at your next alignment.

Thanks but got an alignment within an hour of the tires being put on.

Removed mud flaps. Fixed all the rubbing. Thanks.
