Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

Yeah. Shipping of anything, domestic or international, has gone from a minor mystery to full blown russian roulette.


A real vendor could have knocked this handle out of the park. We ended up with the clown show.

 

My vote is Pee Wee on the next round. They might arrive a bit gooey.

 

I want the handle but am in no rush, so I placed an order yesterday. We'll see how it goes.

 

I just cancelled my order. Two more months for me is TOOOOO much! I expected my grab handles last week in Feb now it's April (tomorrow) they're saying another 45 days turn around for customs. I'm guessing it will be June before the next shoe drops and it will be another two months for some other excuse.

 

Really?

I wonder if Toyota is playin' games in the background. Bored corporate lawyer is like, hold my conag.

 

Well, my dispute between Wells Fargo and KTJO has been formally resolved. Wells Fargo deposited my refund and said the matter is finalized. WINNING!!

Not surprising, the night before I received the notice that my dispute was ruled in my favor I got an email from KTJO spewing more of her inconsistencies and just confirming that she is dumb and can't read, nor tell time.

She claimed in the email that she responded promptly to all the emails and sent said email chain in as part of the dispute. That is fucking hilarious as there were times when there was 10+ days without any response. Oh well. Hopefully karma does it's thing and she gets pummeled on this next batch and closes shop.

But I got my full refund back, and she likely got penalized from whoever processes her payments. Now she's free to send that POS she sent me to some other poor schmuk.

It's definitely been a long lesson learned. I'll never be participating in a pre-order/group buy for something that hasn't already been produced and successfully sold.

 

That's a tough one because most times, the price increase after the first run is massive. I think I'm pretty much down with odd bits on the Taco though.

 

True, I've already put a lot of money (around $10k) into the Tacoma, all my own work so no labor either, and I really can't think of anything else to add.

Only thing I'm kind of undecided on now is in-cab switch for the winch. I've got the spots for it, but that wiring job is a royal pain in the dick. I've done a shit ton of auto-wiring, and that one just doesn't thrill me.

 

I'm in the same boat with the winch. I have a rear plate and just don't really want to run wires for that. I'm sure that I will regret it at some point, but for now, I'm just holding off.

 

I've been using just the normal 12ft cables that come with every winch I've touched in the last 15+ years, and never really felt like I needed an in-cab switch. But I have 3 blanks in the middle of my 7 switch meso panel under the a/c buttons, and no clue what to put there. I have his 4 button panel under the left side cubby that has fogs, offroad lights, front camera, and rear camera in it. and I've got my 12v plug, USB port, and both rostra heated seat switches I installed in the 7 switch panel. Pretty much covers everything I need there.

 

I just have the LSP7 with one blank remaining. I do have some Diode Dynamics pods that need to be wired up though.


I guess it depends if the winch remote is just that big of a hassle?

 

Pre ordered mine early last year, got it months ago and finally ready to try the install. Could y'all send a pic of the correct hardware needed for a successful install? I tried to look back dozens of pages but could not find it. Wanted to make sure I have the right stuff before I start taking my A pillar apart. besides the covers being a little rough around the edges, everything looks okay on my end.

 

Two different sized M6 bolts and a bendy nutplate that fits the bolts.
