In the end though, Im happy they are using it to get the word out that this headunit does fit tacomas. It was listed for a corolla, but I took a chance and it ended up working out.

I finally got mine installed in my Tacoma and I love it mostly but I have one annoying issue. On several apps, the screen is offset to the left a few millimeters. So far I've noticed it on Google maps, Gaia GPS, Netflix, and every ODBII reader app I've tried. A few millimeters doesn't sound too bad but I can't use some of the apps because I can't read the beginning of the configuration items (specifically on the ODBII apps).

I asked tech support if there is a way to adjust the screen but they told me it's normal which is hard for me to believe. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the screen offset?

I have that but only with youtube music, the bottom of the screen is slightly cut off resulting in the buttons on the bottom being smaller.

It's things like this that would absolutely ruin the experience for me. I can be pretty anal about details. As it stands, I'm worried that having a "home" and "back" button both on the screen and the bezel is going to drive me crazy.

I may have a unit for sale soon....

You can go full screen and it removes the home/back buttons from the screen.

Welp. I really want to give this a try. I've never tried anything even close to removing a head unit. Is it really as easy as they say?

I mainly just want android auto. I don't have mobile Hotspot from my phone. What else do I need for installation if I try it? Is this the correct head unit from Amazon? Do I need to buy anything else?

Yes, its 4 bolts, unplug old, plug in new and put in bolts. There are a few install guides in this thread too. If all else fails, your only about 4-5 hours away from me if you wanted to make a road trip.

But also make sure you dont have the JBL system, as the joying radio is a little harder with the OEM JBL radio.

You loose satellite radio with the Joying.

So I will have to get separate unit for satellite radio

Sound good, I just ordered one from Amazon. Should be here tomorrow with the free one day shipping....What a time to be alive.

It really doesn't look to terribly difficult.

Can you elaborate? You mean the bezel on the OEM dash piece or the bezel attached to the joying radio?

It should all be in this thread.

But, the OEM radio trim, put the joying radio into it (not installed in the truck) and you will see the areas that need to be trimmed.
