What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

nice! 12 more years for me. been at the same company now for 35 years.

 

Installed some alpharex pro headlights they look good haven't tested output at night yet, only problem i have right now is hyperflash on my turn signals, contacted them about it , haven't heard anything back yet.

 

Ha! I should rephrase that to "plugs done after 25k miles" i think they're supposed to be changed every 30k? anyways, the truck has 199k miles

Did my drum brakes, first change after 180k miles. Added some retro center caps that remind me of the old 80s cargo van i grew up in the back of..

Also installed the full skids from the rci group buy. Just in time for this jump in cat thefts.

 

I installed a shaded 3rd gen (16-17) windshield.

 

A 3rd Gen windshield fits a 2nd Gen? I thought the body design was different enough that they weren’t compatible. I learn something new everyday!

 

Those are sweet wheels, I really like 'em. Been trying to find Level 8 Mk6 but have been told that company was sold and production stopped. Tried several companies but nobody has them. Wish the Vors were a hair cheaper I'd pull the trigger on those.

295s and only a rear locker are woefully inadequate.

37s, front locker, and gears here we come! How do I convince the wife I need to spend more $1000s on this truck?

Recently installed a Swing Case, thinking about doing another or one of those longer side boxes on the other side. But lost the use of the track rails this far back. So I attached these clips today on the bed bolts so i can still use my cargo netting near the tailgate.

 

Weight reduction - cooling louvers. Stoked for these. Out here in AZ with a black truck that gets wheeled hard in summer these will be a great addition. Also even great for in town DD to reduce intake, engine and transmission temps. These were $150 from RUNCOOL . Com and they came with black SS rivets for fasteners

 

I'm looking for something like this but for 05-11 (not the 2.5 gen)

 

Finished the job by adding another Dometic outlet to the side of the bed. Now the fridge can live in the back or the cab.
