I'll probably look at Dobinsons or Deavers for my next set, but in all honesty, I will be asking the same question as you to guys who have more experience than me when it comes time to purchase. I'm sure Randy's recommendation is light years ahead of mine!

I can't afford them either, but I know I'm not buying dakars again!

If you’re on a budget, Dobinsons. If not, I’m running icon RXT and am a huge fan. Or deavers.

Once you factor in the fact that the icon come with bushings, u bolts and an AAL, they really cost about the same as Dakar.

I'm probably going to do the Dobinsons. If they ever get back in stock.

One interesting thing about tacoma dobinsons is that there are not as many rear shock options. The longest taco dobinsons nitro looks like 614mm and 683mm for the more expensive MRA when fully extended. A lot of 4th gen 4runner guys put on 2nd and 3rd gen tacoma takeoffs as stock replacement, only need to change rear lower shock bushing for different size. Otherwise they're direct swap. I wonder if could go backwards and use the 4runner rear shocks on the tacoma, just change lower shock bushing? Longest nitro for 4th gens is 730mm, so that would be a decent bit of extra extension. of course have longer compressed length too, but looks like the shocks would have about 50mm more travel. I also could be missing something, maybe thats limited by the leafs? I don't know a whole lot about the tacoma rear suspension beyond the basics, but could be an interesting discussion to have

Although if it was that easy, dobinson probably would have firgured it out

The same saying will come into play as baby --> toddler --> kid --> teen --> young adult!!!!!!

So...that said, I'm glad my wife isn't timid, nothing like the daycare playground expansion project is completed, my wife found out this morning (that since she asked about the then playset once the new project and equipment was in-place) we're able to pickup the old plastic playset...nothing like deleting the nearly $1k playset out of your shopping cart!!!

You’d think for being such an expensive piece that it would perform better. It makes a bunch of noise and leaks everywhere.
