Is the TRD Sport a noticeably smoother ride on roads ?

Buying a new Taco and really love the look of the PRO (grill, fender, headlights, stitching, etc).

But as a daily driver is the ride noticeably less comfortable than a TRD Sport?

The Pro will ride better than the Sport.

It's great on smooth roads. Any uneven bumps though, and it is hella harsh. The easy fix is to remove the sway bar. Then, it handles well on road, over imperfections, and off road.

TRD Pro has a great ride on and off road. The Sport has a “tuned” suspension for on road driving which I personally think rides better than the TRD Off Road.

The 16s on the Pro and OR make very comfy rides

on test drives, I thought the OR bilsteins + 16 felt much more compliant than the sport to me .

butt dyno, no objective measure to back it up

The Offroad and Pro will absorb uneven roads and bumps better, the sport will feel more composed in corners and lane changes.

And sometimes my offroad with no swaybar lists so hard to port on an onramp I'm worried I'll capsize.

Depends on how you drive. The suspension is why I bought a Sport. But, I drive aggressively. I test drove an Off Road and absolutely HATED the soft squishy suspension. Didn't try a Pro.

Most the ride quality on pavement comes from the tires, not shocks/springs. I would say the TRD Pro is more comfortable with 16" wheels and more sidewall, but the TRD Sport with 17" wheels will handle slightly better.

That also means the minute you swap in load range C or E all-terrain tires with more plies and tougher sidewalls, the ride will get worse.

It is not just streets, but do you have really nice pavement around or it is a minefield. More of a minefield for me that made my wife give me side-eye and loud sighs. SBD fixed that perfectly.

That is often said, but a blind test would be interesting. I don't think a half inch of sidewall is changing the feel, all else being equal, esp tire pressures.

    The last part, definitely though.

In all fairness you have to give all these trucks several thousand miles for the suspension to settle in. I complained about how stiff they ride when mine was new. After 8.5k miles its a lot better...not as plush as my gen1 tundra, but exceptable.

Before I bought my Sport, I test drove both the Off Road and the Sport. To me, the Sport rode better on the road and that's why I went with it. The Off Road felt more 'bouncy' and I really didn't like that. Others do like it more because it feels 'softer' at the same time. Your best bet is to test drive as much as the dealers will let you and decide what you like most.

Test drive and buy the one you like best.

The look of the Sport is what got me to stop at a dealer -- the ride sold the truck. Fun, like a big go cart

I love my TRD OR for off road, which is what I mainly use my truck for. Rides like a dream to me off road. On the highway, I find it a little soft. But I am lucky in that I have an old carolla to use as a beater. I have ridden in a sport, and would prefer that for highway driving, but it is a little stiffer.

Depends on how you drive it. I liked the suspension up until I got larger tires. I ended up disliking the feel of the suspension so I went out and bought a set of Fox coilover shocks and it really changed the feeling on and off road.
