Friendly PSA: don't leave wrenches or other long tools in your back pocket when you rush off to the restroom. They may be prone to jumping out when your back is turned to the porcelain...

No he didn’t. He may have one from another engine or he can make one. He doesn’t have a lathe though

What can the soon to be scrap pieces be made to build??

I gotta agree with Shane going new material looks to be the most cost effective till you dismantle and reconfigure to the proper dimension .

Every rework is different a ten ton Weldment is quite different when the prints lied from what I heard it was something about converting Metric to the US system numbers were transposed and never caught being the shop only ever saw the lying prints .

I got into enough trouble in my younger days questioning things that looked wrong .

I’ll use them to make the short parts for the next one. This is a prototype to make sure it works

Not a problem most likely I never gave it a thought just grabbed them out and back in the pocket they went .

I got broke in early we had a septic tank that the tree roots had blocked the pipe to the drain field back in those days they were called Cess pools .

After the level dropped I was lowered into the tank and scooped the 5 gallon bucket full a toilet is a walk in the park.

We were all told to use the outhouse not the new fancy indoor plumbing .

I am sure even back then repairing would have been expensive bringing things up to code.
