    Just joined the Tacoma family.
2014 Tacoma Access cab SRS Black 2.7 liter manual shift 43,100 miles as of today.
Been hearing my coworkers brag on their trucks for so long, finally won me over.
Looked for a standard cab 4x4 but very rare to find in the used market where I’m at so went with the extended
    Here my pics

Not really. Had a Jeep Wrangler and loved it but it was a brutal ride on long trips, this will just be my daily driver, the longer wheelbase rides like a Cadillac compared to the old Jeep.

I mentioned earlier that some of my co workers bragged on their Tacoma’s.
While that was a major motive for me purchasing one, I did own a Toyota car back in the 80’s

I was just out of high school and started work at a local textile plant. I wanted a newer vehicle so I spied a 1983 Toyota Celica GT used at a local lot. When I looked at the mileage it scared me 110,000 miles. The salesman gave me the name of the previous owner and it was a local that I happened to know. I called him and he told me that the car was rock solid and not to be afraid of it.

The car was 2500 hundred bucks and I had 1000 of it. I went to the bank to get the rest. I drove the car to the bank and a Lady loan officer came outside and looked it over. She said “ it looks like a fine car but.... that mileage scares me, I just don’t know. She must have seen the disappointment on my face and told me just to wait a minute while she goes and ask her boss about it.

She came back in about 10 minutes and told me “ my boss the manager said to let you have it, he has seen Toyota’s with 200,000 miles on them and still running fine. (Which was incredible back then)
So it looks like Toyota had a reputation even back in 1989, and I thought of that Bank manager’ statement when paying premium price for my Tacoma, figuring it would last me as long as I wanted to drive it.
Oh and I drove the Celica for about a year no problems.

    Still thinking about it.
Hi Doug. Welcome. I have a very similar 2015, also my first Toyota. I’ve put almost 40,000 miles on in the last 17 months. It’s the perfect truck for my use! All weather driving/hauling and general abuse.
