Shit? 700,000? Amazing. What kind of usage? Highway? What were you're maintinance schedules? What brand of oil did you use? What are the temps like where you live?

Impressive!! Now I feel like mine will go that long. My usage is the same as your's except I extend my oil changes with Amsoil because I'm too lazy/busy to want to mess with it as often. The same with plugs which is why I installed Iridiums.

2015 2TR-FE, have ran nothing but 0w20. 80,000 miles. I have 3 oil analysis reports from Blackstone that do not show any abnormal wear patterns. I drive this 4 cylinder hard too.

I’ve just had my 2014 Tacoma for 6 days and saw the 0w20 on the oil cap, and was curious because I’ve never used that thin of oil in any vehicle I’ve ever owned but after reading all the post I’m comfortable with 0w20, but I might use 5w20 in summer and 0W20 in the winter.

I read that the 5w20 doesn’t take has long to reach 20 weight thickness in a engine that is heating up. I just read that I don’t know it for a fact but it makes sense since 5w is already closer to 20 when cold. Any thoughts does anybody else use 0w20 in winter and 5w20 in summer?

0w20 and 5w20 are so close, it's not really worth switching unless your winters are severe. Even then, you can pick one and use it year-round. If you regularly see 0*F or below in winter, use 0w year round. If your winters are above 0*F, use 5w year round. Zero F may seem arbitrary but it's the best criteria I can offer to answer your question. I will add, if you work it hard in summer, then maybe you should switch to a 5w30 seasonally but still I don't think it's necessary, just change the oil more often since that would be severe service anyway. The modern 0w20 and 5w20 oils are very good, with a smidge more protection from a 5w30 when working it hard in higher temps. Just my $0.02

I have 218, 000 on my 2TR-FE, 5 lug. As part of buying new at my dealer they provide oil changes and filter for $20 each time. As it says it requires 0w20 right on the cap, I have to assume that's what they use and am OEM filter. I have tried to have it changed every 2500 but missed a few times and ran it to 5000. Never analyzed the used oil but I'm mostly all highway driving so betting the oil was still pretty good even after 5000.

When new and you checked the oil, the oil was so clear that you couldn't even read it. It comes out only very lightly visible in color now. I haven't been the best at cleaning my k&n air filter though. I've probably cleaned it 5 times in the 200,000 miles. I believe it's a pretty clean engine though and hope it'll go 3 times that much more miles before it starts to burn. I change the oil so much because at that price, it's affordable and it's like "buying time" as ole Chuck Y would say. Even the best oil still accumulates dirt and the filter only filters some of it.

I don't see kilometers or miles. You must mean kilometers, right?

My 2015 I bought new has around 165k running 0W-20 a majority of the miles. Oil changes anywhere from 5000-8000 usually.
No issues with the truck aside from replacing the brakes a couple times, and new rotors once. And a battery replacement once or twice.

It's a bulletproof engine. But if I could have gone back, I would have gotten a V6 Taco or 4runner instead honestly. Very limited on mods and bigger tires due to weight and mpg/power concerns. Ill probably hold onto it forever at this point as the resale value won't be worth much by the time it gets up to 300-400k miles.

My 09 is up to 183k using all 0w20. Changed every 5k religiously. Using O'Reilly brand when I was very broke, now mobil 1 truck.

The last 60k of that running a urd supercharger, with the stage 2 pulley. Had an oil test done recently, no signs of anything amiss. I'll try and dig up the report. It'll go the distance for sure.

I have the 2.7L and manual says 5W30, but I've run 0W30 for about the last 180k (234k now). Can ALL 2TR-FE motors take the 0W20?

165k on 0w20 at 5k intervals...I buy whatever full synthetic is cheapest, sometimes even Amazon Basics. Zero problems.

2012 five speed 4x4 regular cab. 203,000 miles owned since new. 0w20 the entire time with the exception of one or two oil changes at random quick lube places that didn't have it and I was pushing it on the miles on a trip somewhere. Othere wise changed at the dealer at 5k intervals. The local lube place in town charged me over a hundred bucks the one time they changed it. for 75 the the dealer rotates the tires and does the inspection. Would cost close to 40 with a filter from the local NAPA ( resort mountain town prices ) and there is snow on the ground six months out of the year here. It was negative 30 here the other morning summers push 90. 0w20 seems to have worked well for me. The truck has been the most reliable rig i have ever owned. replaced a front axel seal that was leaking at 200k and the exhaust manifold and doughnut gaskets at 180k. Only other repair was an inner bed around 40 k that toyota replaced under warrenty after they over torqued the bed bolts and messed up one of the holes

Just hit 221,000 on my 2013. Steady diet of Mobil1 0w20 every 6500-7000 miles with Champ synthetic filters.

Changed valve cover gasket about 10k back. Only because sparkplug gaskets were starting to seep. Was very pleased on how clean valve train was.
