I recently purchased a used, one owner 2018 Tacoma SR5 with the 6 cylinder engine. The previous owner had he truck lifted 2.5" by the Toyota dealership with spacers in the front with stock shock and raised the rear with blocks and added a leaf perhaps. The truck has Bridgestone KO2 E rated tires in 265/75/16 size.

The ride is firmer than I would like and would like to soften the ride. From what I have read, the E rated KO2 tires give a firm ride. My 2007 Chevy Avalanche rides on a pillow compared to this Tacoma currently.

What is the group's thought of what to change to soften the ride? Change tires, change shocks? I would like to keep the lift if possible.

    Thanks in advance.

E load range LT tires compared to P rated tires definitely affect ride quality especially when the air pressure is kept high. As far as the suspension, are you willing to lose some load capacity? What is your intended use? Do you haul heavy stuff? Tow heavy stuff? Load capacity is at odds with unloaded ride quality and is why trucks are stiff. There are lots suspension options depending on your goals, but they all have trade offs.

It's also possible that your front suspension is lifted too far and has limited down travel (aka droop) leading to a harsh ride.
