I don’t want to be a whistleblower but I’m pretty sure it’s against the rules to post pics of your junk. :boink:

    Storytime!

So, a conversation in another venue reminded me of this...

When I was around 9 or 10, I was a stone-cold kleptomaniac. We didn’t have Walmart or Kmart way back then. We had a store called Gibson’s Discount Center where my mom always shopped. I almost always came out of there with something in my pocket. Usually just a roll of lifesavers from the impulse rack at the checkout. Those were so easy it was almost a crime not to take them. Sometimes I got things like a flashlight but no batteries, a cheap, made in Taiwan knife with the folding spoon and fork, etc. Thinking back, I was clearly on a career path straight to Juvie. Ironically, the only time I got busted was the only time I hadn’t swiped anything. My mom had bought me a pair of jeans but she picked up the wrong size. So she took me back, gave me the receipt and told me to go exchange them. I went to the service desk, explained the situation and the lady told me to go on back and get what I needed. Which I did. It didn’t occur to me that I needed to go back to her afterwards. I just proceeded out the door. That’s when the security guy, who looked like he probably played left tackle in the NFL in his younger years, grabbed my arm and my neck and marched me to the security room. He told me to sit on the stool and proceeded with the third degree...
“Where do you think you’re going with them britches, cowpoke?”
I was close to tears. “To...to...to my m-m-mom’s car. She p-p-paid for them before.”

“So where is the receipt young man?”

“The...the lady out there has it”

“Come show me who has it.”

So we go to the service desk and the lady verified my story and gave him the receipt. He studied it like she and I might be in a conspiracy. Finally he handed it to me, said okay and walked away. No apology. I bolted for the door and have never stolen anything since. To this day, I don’t even take free samples without checking for that guy first.
