    OME 884’s ,Dakar hd’s, Jba uca, lce header, 4.88’s, Arb locker , j shift tcase-T4R, arb bumper, leer topper, 3500w inverter, mad wife, scratched paint, skid plates, snorkelerer, led flush mount reverse lights, etc..
    That 200t motor the 8ar-fts is actually a very interesting motor. Makes max torque throughout almost the entire rev band (under WOT at least). Would honestly love to see that as an engine option in a taco, if there was a third pedal option still.

    So would the 4:88 gearing be too low for a stock truck setup? What would be an ideal gear ratio to replace stock with?

    From what I’ve read, no experience, 4.88 or 5.29 for 3rd gen autos makes a world of difference.

    That's mostly because people here are told this truck doesnt have any low end torque as the peak torque is at 4600 rpm, while in reality they have 75% of their torque as soon as 2000 rpm.

    Pretty sure it is a placebo effect from the bad throttle response and what they are constantly told on this forum. Just get a M/T, things get a lot better.

    Had a 2006 IS350. Thing is a beast with its aggressive gearing. It flooded out. I sure do missed it.

    So why she's y my 2017 rc 300 with na 3.5 require 91 octane and the tacoma 87? Both have the exact same compression ratio

    Because one is tuned to run on 91 octane and one is tuned to run on 87 octane.
