Just tried to install a ********* 10" box on a 2018 double cab tacoma. Long story short, the fit is very tight. I cant fold the seat down without a lot of force and without the speaker in the box. the 1/8" that the speaker sticks out takes it way over the limit. I have no doubt that putting the seat down all the way would destroy the speaker and tear my seat. Seats up and it's fine! Is the intent to not ever fold the seat down? I think I could live with it if there was another 1/4" (1/2" ideal)

Anyone have anything useful to say?

ugh. Just got a message back from ********* and apparently folding the seat down is not part of the design.

I'm actually thinking about getting one of these but I don't plan on being able to fold the seat down. In that case how is the box fit and quality?

Fit quality is good. the terminal it comes with is ok. The wire it comes with is good. The mounting of the box is very nice. Where do you live? I'm considering selling the box I have.

I live in Honolulu HI so shipping would probably be crazy. Might be interested in buying off you if shipping isn’t too much and you’re willing to sell cheaper. Buying a Tacoma in the next couple weeks and trying to figure out where I’m gonna put my sub :)

Yeah not gonna happen... I think you'd be better off buying a sheet of mdf unless you can find a local reseller.

I agree. They say it's because it fits a full size sub but it's not worth it to me. I think I'm going to try to trim the box. I'd rather have a smaller box than one that doesn't work at all.

It such a tight fit I can’t even get the seat back installed. How did you get your seat back back on? Did you remove the plastic panel from the seat’s back?

I did mine, folding the seat down is not really possible or at least I don’t think it’s advisable but the website stated that in the description when I bought mine. It’s in my 2021.

yeah. I finally did and removed the hard cover behind drivers side. the panel and back piece is out . gives a little more room. zero instructions. I got the TTunes camry 10 pin adaptor too. not happy! I will now need to add 9lead or speed wire to wire my amp

I have an Lc6i. with taciTunes 10 pin harness. this is a never ending project. I heard the harness used to be 17’ long but not
it’s stubby and short. this means i now have to order 9 lead speaker speed wire and of course order via Amazon. debating on just using the hi level inputs on my alpine kenwood 5’channel.
