so, i've got less than 5k on my truck and a couple months ago during winter i used the remote start in the a.m. a few times and the last time.....when i went to get in it stayed running and every light was on and all electronics were full blast.....i turned it off and tried to restart....nothing....i went in the house to get my multimeter to check battery and whatnot...when i came back out i was locked out....the fob wouldn't open the door.... luckily i was at the house and was able to go back in and get the hard key to open the door....it did and after a few tries it miraculously started right up and i can't seem to duplicate the issue....well.... here's my problem....now i want to mount a door key in one of those magnet boxes underneath.....but i don't want it to be the only one i have.....and i can't get anybody to cut me one.....its a weird square key.....any ideas?..... sorry for the long post

I had my local locksmith cut a spare key for me. Took a little trial and error but he got it done. You have an TRD OR though so you should have push to start? Is there any issue using the spare key in the key fob?
