Starting this mostly to keep my mind straight and keep track of the mods, big & small. Truck started out as a "Keep it stock, put miles on it, explore the Northern California environment." So much for that...

    • Meso Puddles (Aug 2020)
    • Meso Door Handle Covers (Sept 2020)
    • Ironman Foam Cell Pro Stage 2 Suspension Kit (Dec 2020)
    • FN f(x) Pro 17" (Dec 2020)
    • Falken Wildpeak AT3W (Dec 2020)
    • Homemade Bed Platform (Jan 2021)
    • Softopper (Mar 2021)

"Built" a bed platform with inspiration from @NeonHeights originally posted here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-me-your-diy-sleep-platform.508654/#post-15975877

Wasn't exactly sure what I wanted with the platform build, but figured for the cost associated, if it didn't work out, I could scrap it just the same.
Found the bed frame on craigslist for $10. Decided to cut it and narrow to fit between the wheel wells, held together with 2x bolts. Also cut it lengthwise, 1x bolt and drilled additional holes to allow for extension with tailgate down and allow sleeping/extension.
Grabbed some plywood and cut into 3 lengths, wrapped in carpet and can remove for access to anything under the platform. Also, the 3rd piece of plywood only gets used with tailgate down and fully extended.
Had an extra Ikea bed frame stored in the garage, so I used the angle iron style supports as addl lateral support for the plywood. I'll be adding an center additional support for use when it's extended, but that hasn't quite gotten finished yet. Not much truck camping in January. That will also be a modified Ikea piece.

Sorry for the purple looking tint, had the bedlights on.

Supports just slide in and out. Not length adjustable.

Entertaining project for a no skill craftsman. Still one more piece to work around before completion, but pretty happy with how its come along!

Within the last two weeks I've added a Softopper and Meso Stage 1 tail lights. Really happy with the increased light to balance out the decreased visibility. Haha
