Hi, need a little info - will an ARE topper for a 2nd Gen (2009) fit a 3rd Gen (2021)? Thanks for the help!

no it will not, while the FRP internal bed tub is the same dimensions, the third gen has higher bed sides and a completely different profile to the bed caps and especially the rear end of the bed. On a third gen it's pretty much square all the way out, on a second gen the bed has a fairly significant boat tail to it.

More than likely a second gen cap would probably attach and serve the purpose given the width is the same, but it as the third gen bed sides are taller the cap itself would probably sit about an inch or two above the cab and it would just not look right at all or have any real weather sealing to speak of.

If you were getting a heck of a deal on it, we're talking 300 bucks or less and you absolutely required a cap for something, I might consider it as a temporary solution but if this is something you want to keep long term I wouldn't bother even trying to put a second gen cap on a third gen bed.
