Followed Mountain Lion’s https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/mountain-lion.4640/ and Tah-Koh-Mah’s https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/tah-koh-mah.318085/, flush instructions - very excellent write ups. Had a mechanic do a full flush at 70k, then at 120k had him drop the pan, clean the mags and refill. All with Toyota WS.

Today at 160k, I did a full flush w/ Valvoline Max life - 16 qts. Noticed that at the end of each start/stop (stoped at 2qts each time), was “foamy” at the end. Any ideas as to why?

    Test drive was fine.

    Thanks

For the record most here will recommend only using Toyota fluid for the ATF.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by foamy at the end. After the test drive? After filling it? It's probably fine but hopefully someone here knows more.

I've done 2 flushes on my Taco since I have owned it from new 11 years ago. Used Valvoline Maxlife both times. Truck has about 210K Km on it, no issues.

If you are referring to seeing foam in the pail you were using to flush the old fluid into, I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like you've treated your transmission well over the last few years. Consider replacing the filter/screen in the transmission next time you drop the pan. If the pan is off, replacing the filter/screen is very easy.

Yes indeed - foam in the pail and hose at the end of the 2 qt "flush". Test drive was fine. At 200K will drop pan - change filter and gasket - refill.
    Many thanks!
