Here’s the latest brain child of myself and @caribe makaira

These are breakout harnesses that allow you to control relays using every setting on the light stalk without splicing the tiny wires going to the stalk:
    • High beam flash
    • High beam constant
    • Headlights
    • Tail lights
    • Fog lights
    • Left turn signal
    • Right turn signal
This is a very versatile harness with a lot of different uses. Some ideas include: Lights tied to the fog lights, lights tied to DRLs, new turn signals, cameras tied to the turn signals (with a delay module), cornering lights (with delay module), light bars tied to high beams (flash, constant, or both), all-time fog lights (inquire), etc. This is a harness if you want to get creative and develop your own custom mod.

Each pin on the harness is ground-completing. This means you need to run the wire to the ground pin on your relay in order for it to act as a trigger.

    IMG_3778.HEIC.jpg

When ordering please specify which light stalk settings you would like to tap. The options are above. Wire color will be changed according to your order. The picture is just a sample.

The base price is $35, and then add $2 for every breakout pin. Shipping is $5. Production time will be about 5 business days. Supplies are very limited for the first run but will be scaled if there’s enough interest.

This is something I've never thought about needing. But now...it goes on my future mod list.

I'll wait and see what ideas people come up with as I have nothing to connect to this yet. The cameras would be my first move, probably. Good work!

Certainly peaked my interest. I'd be curious to see some pics of this in action and installation. Gonna be watching this.

I currently have my ditch lights hook up to an oem style switch in the cab to turn it on and off. I also tied that same ditch lights to MESO shift knob button to flash people instead of using my high beam to flash people. If I use this harness to tie my ditch lights into the high beam, would I still be able to have the switch to activate it on and off?

Because the pins on this harness are ground actuated you would need an additional relay to convert the (-) into a (+). It wouldn’t be difficult but it would require more components if you are mixing multiple (+) and (-) triggers.

Just a note - @DSIM s mod does just that: convert a negative trigger to positive.

Cool idea to cover all the taps at one go!

Did I miss the link to order and select configuration option? Also, what years/ models is this confirmed to work on?

I know this is a 3rd gen thread, but a lot of things are the same on the 05+. Has this been tested on any 2nd gens?

Had to check on this as I don’t own a 2nd gen. It’s the same connector but I’m not sure if it’s the same pin mapping. I do know that the 2nd gen light stalk is a ground-completing switch so it will work the same. So, if you want one, I can verify the pins with the electrical manual but I don’t have a way to test it on my own.

Ordering is handled over PM. Just shoot your order and I’ll provide payment information. I own a web domain but haven’t set it up for ordering, yet. Direct to consumer sales are just easier for me over the forums, regardless.

Truck isn’t in drivable condition but I will get the first batch of orders out tomorrow. Thanks, everyone!

For those on the fence — feel free to consult if you have ideas. This is mostly a “developer” harness for people wanting to mess around. I figure there are plenty of other tinkerers out there that can put it to good use. It will be part of a couple different harnesses / mods I’ve designed and will work on later in the year.

Just a question that I'm guessing others will have as well.

I installed the 12volt.solutions remote start that had a bunch of similar harnesses. Wondering if there is enough room for this additional plus all of their additional harnesses. It was a tight fit getting the lower steering wheel tower cover back on properly.

The harness is very low profile, but I haven't tested it with other harnesses attached to the column. From what I recall you can cut the zip-tie holding all of those wires together and maneuver the C11 connector around in order to find space. There's a lore more room towards the back of the steering column.

For those looking for an override switch solution here are two options. Option 1 requires 2 relays, gives you a single switch to override the light stalk (standard push-style, @MESO stealth knob, your own special switch, etc.), but does not allow you to control whether the light stalk functions without turning the accessory on ("stock mode"). Said differently: Option 1 you will ALWAYS have your accessory trigger with your light stalk whether you want it to or not. This is fine for some applications like DRLs, turn signals, etc.

    Override_two_relay.jpg

Option 2 would be preferred if you are setting up a completely new application. It uses a SPDT switch, a single relay, and allows you to kill the circuit and use your light stalk without triggering the accessory when OFF. The downside is you have to use a SPDT switch which can be tricky to track down in the Toyota "push-style" size. You might be able to get some custom-printed switches to match your application but you will pay for it.

Looks good. Any way to use this with a potential fog light anytime mod?

Brite Box makes a kit for $100, but at least one person had it catch fire in the engine bay, so I'm really hesitant.

And that is why I applied for an LLC.............................. Anyway @caribe makaira and I are trying to get around that another way. The fog lights are controlled by the ECU so we have to get at it using other modes of persuasion.

Thanks, I have the non SAE fogs and would really like to use them with the high beams off road.
