Looking for a good OEM style/fit head unit with Apple Car Play & Andriod Auto, please leave recommendations and your thoughts on them.

Lots of options out there. You’ll want something with the maestro interface to retain all factory functions.

I’ve got a kenwood dnx997xr. Really comes down to how much you want to spend, do you want wireless CP/AA, nav, how big of screen

I saw this. It's expensive, but it would be oem. Ill prob go this route after I upgrade speakers.

Sorry, IMHO anything that says "Entune" is not worth that much money. To each their own though.

Ya but, it has android auto/car play. When I had that on my oem headunit on my 2017 civic si, once you plug your phone in, android auto/carplay becomes the operating system of sorts.

My advice, I would get one with wireless Apple car play.

    This and that...
Damn! 2k for a head unit in a Tacoma?! I mean to each their own, but you are paying a premium price just for the OEM look. All head units can be easily wired to work like a factory unit. Plenty of units with Android CarPlay at a fraction of the cost that would work much better with any aftermarket speakers you're looking at. $2,000 on an Entune is just hard to swallow in my opinion when you can save more than $1500 and still have a great unit and blow it on something else if you want. Just a thought...

Just giving the OP some options lol. I also like the look/function of the alpine halo9 but heard some members say it vibrates and rattles a lot off road.

That looks like just the 2020+ OEM unit with wired carplay/android support. If you're spending for a head unit - why you would spend that much to get just a stock HU is beyond me.

I know @5nahalf has done a lot of work and posts on his setup already.

Yeah, the wireless option is nice but it's not a make or break thing for me, the main thing I want is for it to look clean and retain steering wheel functions

I've looked at this one its nice and all but I can get one of those from a parted out Tacoma for much cheaper and I'm not trying to keep the Entune.

I’m reading rumors that iPhones will have no ports in the future (one was as early as next year on the higher end phone). So that’s why I mentioned that. You don’t want to get a new radio and in a few years you’ll need to buy an adapter to use it.

Oohhhhh that's a really good point, so then wireless is now a must-have in my search now.
