Would like a 2.5" rear lift on the 5160. Currently with a 1.5" block. No crazy off-roading, all pavement.

    Can it be done? Thanks.

Yes, it can be done. 5160 has 9.84" travel (14.22" compressed, 24.06" extended).
I run similar sized Fox rears without issue, with 2-1/2"+ lift.
Is it the best option for you? Hard to say without knowing how much shaft you have showing with an 1-1/2" block installed, and how much your leaf pack lets you droop.

    Shock Specifications:
    5160

    - Collapsed = 14.22"
    - Extended = 24.06"
    - Travel 9.84"

    5100 extended travel
    Collapsed: 16.34"
    - Extended = 27.28"
    - Travel = 10.94"

So the 5100 extended is only an additional +1.1" of travel.

I have been contemplating a Matrac spindle lift with a 4" rear lift, but that is an absolute no go on the 5160? The extended travel 5100 is only $220 but I would hate to just do away with the 5160 I spent $400 on.

My next option is the 2.5" rear lift on my 5160.

    Thanks for the feedback.

You really need to figure out your numbers before you buy anything. The extended 5100's are ~3" longer, but they are also 2" longer when they are fully compressed, meaning they might bottom out before your bump stop hits.
You are correct that 5160 are no bueno for 4" lift. The good news is you can sell them here without too much loss.
