What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

The ADS coilovers only have a few thousand miles. But I will blame myself on this one. When I did my LCA bushing a few weeks back I put the lower shock bolt on with the 1/2” impact. Not long after it started get very noisy. Pinpointed the lower bearing as the culprit. Went to take the nut off the lower shock bolt and couldn’t break it loose by hand. Oops. I forget how strong that Milwaukee impact is.

Thinking about trying to put this 4 Runner sport seat foam on my seat frames and then take it to the A custom upholstery shop I’ve been talking with (planning on custom upholstery anyway)

At that price, aftermarket seats might be the way to go.

 

You can always find a passenger side bucket in a lot better shape than the drivers side and then swap it into your drivers side. It will be a lot cheaper and takes only a few minutes to do.

Seat backs posted are sport seats foam. I have regular seats.

 

A little excursion yesterday, to test the newly installed OME Kit.
I only dropped tires to 24psi. Forgot my compressor ;-/

 

Try 15-16 next time, it will be noticeably softer/flexier

 

I would have went down in that range. I drove off without my compressor.

 

After wanting to regear for about 10 years, I decided now is the time. Regearing in progress, going to 4.56:

 

Super easy, it's really about prepping and I did everything outside but i waited for an overcast low wind day. I'm pretty impressed by the feel and look. I wanted it thick with big texture. Sprayed on 4 bottles at 45 psi with a tiny harbor freight pancake compressor.

Where does the OME AAL get installed in the dakar leaf pack?
I think I remember reading somewhere that people would put it third from the top? I couldn't find any installation instructions or documentation online.

That sounds right...though it's been a few years since I installed the AAL in my old Dakars.

I do remember it didn't seem like it would look/fit right anywhere else in the pack.
